He is, but he's bloody good at that, and you cannot teach his nose for goals and being in the right place at the right time. With a more settled team next season, and some reinforcements he can definitely go up a few more levels. I think a significant part of the issues, is too many fans wanting him to be and do things that he is not.

I definitely agree he's bloody good at what he does. I just think 11 goals is about as good as you can expect from him, as I just don't think there can be that much opportunity to keep scoring the same kind of goal more than 10-14 times per season. I think to score more than that you need to be bloody good at one or two other things, such as long disctance shooting or dribbling etc.

I do like him, I don't want him sold or anything, though I think we'd have to consider a decent offer, but that's true of lots of our squad. I just don't think as a starter, he's got sufficient attributes to be as good as the players you'd expect to see in a title challenging team. I didn't want us to sign him in the first place, but I'm actually pleased we've got him, as I think he's proven to be decent enough value for money. He's not been amazing or anything, but I don't think we can complain too much when he scored 18 goals in all competitions, including the winner in a major European final.

Broadly agree, but think with confidence growing and Ange behind him, he can push on.

I met him in my dream last night and he was really nice. Showed him my video from the parade of him absolutely steaming and he laughed. Nothing more to add.

I know this has been said, but I'll say it again 18 goals (no pens) and 7 assists is a fantastic achievment for ANY player at this level, especially playing RW in a team that finished just outside the relegation places.

He knows where the goal is and he arrives on time. Yes he has areas to improve on but he's 24 (just turned).

He also hasn't missed that many games, something that is hugely undervalued compared to other members of the squad.

I still think he has massive potential and I still believe that he is not a touchline hugging winger. You could argue that he also probably currently our best winger.

He is simply awesome... Hope he will stay with us for a long time.

Love it.

Probably mentioned elsewhere and i missed it but i noticed on rewatch that in the lead up to the goal, Sarrs meandering run went the way it did because as Sarr turns in field to look for options there, brennan actually directs him to go out wide to Richarlison and Sarr goes back out wide so we could eventually cross for Johnson. He was ready for the chance and he took it (sortve).

I think a lot of fans would warm to him a bit more if celebrated his goals more often.

Sounds daft, but he gives the impression he's got a sulk on at times.

Considering in interviews he states how much he loves it here and doesn't pay that much attention to outside noises, I think he needs to allow himself to enjoy his football more often.

The fans would certainly warm to that.

Mate, the last time he scored a goal, he went on a three day bender and had to be physically removed from a stage in front of tens of thousands of cheering fans.

How much more do you want him to celebrate?

He couldn’t have celebrated much harder than he did after Bilbao.

Only just realised what it is about Johnson, he doesn't score tap ins he makes them all look like tap ins, he never blasts it he always places it, it's almost forensic. I've come to realise what he's got and what he's got is that ice cold calm when he has a chance. Most people get a rush of excitement when presented with the chance to shoot and that's why all too often they miss gilt edged chances. That's a fantastic asset for a striker.

Looking forward to seeing what else he can do under a new coach. I am 100% sure that he was playing exactly as instructed under Ange.

He didn't celebrate goals at one point because of the abuse he got which led to him coming off social media.

A touch of the Jimmy Greaves. He 99 times out of 100 just passed the ball into the net.

You know what? I nearly made that comparison but I thought there'd be a pile on saying he's not as good as Jimmy Greaves which isn't what we're saying.😅
You are right though that is a good comparison.

It’s a good comparison. Jimmy always said that scoring was easy, the goal was 8 yards wide, just one ‘keeper, so kick the ball where the goalkeeper isn’t. None of this “work the keeper “ bollocks.

Really intrigued to see how he gets on under Frank if he is indeed the next manager. Brentford tried to sign Johnson over 5 separate windows stemming back to before he even broke into the Forest first team, and culminating in a £40m+ bid which would have obliterated their club transfer record. Clearly they would’ve had big plans for him given their persistence and the size of the deal, which is completely against their modus operandi.
