Chadli was a lot lot better than Johnson imo.

Can’t believe anyone defends Johnson, genuinely think he’s our worst signing in recent years by a distance. Nothing player.
Nothing like a bit of hyperbole. I am not his biggest fan, but I wish he was our worst singing of recent years

That was a typical Johnson for me, limited, hiding, too cautious on the ball, but pops up with a goal out of nowhere, 119 minutes of shit, more magnified as he was playing part-timers, but I didn't expect any different from him, whoever the opponent he simply is a very limited player, for some that last bit of sometimes popping up with a goal covers up the gaping deficiencies in his game, but in reality if we ever want to challenge for trophies we need faaar better, reminds me of Darren Bent

Don't think I've seen one performance from Johnson since he joined where I've thought "Johnson had an great game today".

Even In that run of games where he was scoring frequently, his performances are always beyond frustrating and underwhelming,

signing a top class RW is crucial and will transform us. As many others have said, He is sadly just detrimental to our performances and not even close to the required level. (Same with werner)

Interesting that you say hiding. I watched him very closely from not far away in a pre season game against hearts. My impression that he was hiding as well that night, I was sat not far from his position at at no point did I hear him demand the ball, actually I didn't hear him shout once in that full half which I found very strange

He’s a coward. He hides every game.

He doesn’t offer anything other than tap ins which mask his poor he is.

Him and Werner need bombing out the club asap.

Tyler Dibling at Southampton would be a great upgrade.

Even Morgan Whittaker at Plymouth is better than Johnson.

if everyone was fit(we can dream), he wouldn't even make my matchday squad.

kinsky, vicario, porro, spence, romero, dragusin, van de ven, udogie, gray, bissouma, bentancur, sarr, bergvall, kulusevski, maddison, odobert, moore, son, solanke, richarlison

davies, reguilon, johnson and werner missing out.

Johnson looked poor today, but against different opposition he is still an effective player for us.

I'll concede he lacks a bit of fight you need in these tough matchups against low-block teams, but he has the pace and positioning to hurt teams that give us space to run.

Dibling is a good shout.

Johnson is so frustrating to watch. Vs Tamworth today, there were aerial balls into his zone that he just watched, refusing to compete for them. 95% of his pressing looks tokenistic and unconvincing. And he seems to be, give or take, the least talented player with the ball at his feet in the squad.

I think he was a speculative buy, with the premise he would be worth a lot more in a few years.on current showing, I think we would do well to get what we paid for him.
We won't get anywhere near what we paid for him. Every game he plays he looks less value than the week before.

If he'd come through the academy, I think you see him as a useful player to have in the squad and a good player to throw on when you need a goal or to start the occasional game. He's a squad player, he'll never be starting quality for a top team and that's fine. Not everyone is.

The problem he has and will always have, rightly or wrongly, is the price tag and coming in from elsewhere. He's not "one of our own", he's a high fee signing and came in as a potential long term solution at RW.

I still like him, I think he has age on his side and some useful talents, including one of the rarer skills in football which is the ability to get in to good positions. He's not a striker, not really a winger. He's a decent player and probably a super sub going forward, if he's our RW next season then it's a monumental failure.

The price tag isn't the issue for me.

He's still young at 23 and has a decent goalscoring and assist record. I just don't see a very high ceiling with him. I'm not sure I want us to have a young squad player to develop who doesn't have the tools to reach a high ceiling.

Hopefully I'm wrong but that's how I see it.
