Cum agin? This will be good.
Ur saying sh didnt
Lol why are you so angry? We are where we are because we sign bang average players like johnson. Would city, arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea sign him? No, they wouldn’t. Yet we have him as a starter.
He’s playing in a system that requires 1v1 wingers yet he’s not a good dribbler g
Wait I said…. *cum again* u classify that as rage? Are u Swedish? Unless ur a little thick Arsenal have had their stadium rebuild what 5-6 years ago? We have never been a club on Liverpools level historically…. Come

I think a lot of managers believe in their ability to make a player better. I'm sure Ange expected to get more from these players than he has so far. Johnson is a classic example of that because he shows moments of greatness but we simply don't see enough from him throughout a game. So I think they're happy with a lot of the signings we make because they see the potential. He still has room for growth but I don't see him as a kid at all. He's at an age now where you really need to see that bit more from him.

Man I like u as a poster if a full back isn’t scared or a goal in every 2 games, I’d worry more about the defender than our kid. The days of 2 stepovees a rabona are GONE. Pep says hi. IMO How many more goals should he have been scoring? That’s a strikers odds.
Man, don't get me wrong, I like Johnson and I do think he's got a lot to offer but it's just that with him on one side and Sonny on the other, we become predictable because neither of them seem to fancy taking a man on.

We desperately need a tricky winger and have done for a while now, someone who'll drag two players towards him and create more space for BJ to exploit on the other side, or visa-versa.

I'm not having a pop at either Johnson or Sonny, they are very good at what they do well but for me, they are too one dimensional when they're together on the pitch and when it's not working, it's extremely predictable.

We need, and have done for a while now, an unpredictable option out wide.
Werner is the closest we have and he struggles to finish his dinner, plus, I very much doubt he'll be here next season.

Odobert may become that but again, we're relying on a kid to make the difference in a team that apparently has aspirations to challenge at the top.

I think Obobert will be a fucking baller. I think his injury, Solanke’s injury has just been very…. Hate to say it *Spursy*. I like Madders I really do, but I think he doesn’t have the grit to be a 9. We have very, very good players, it’s how they fit in a system we really need to look at. The way Ange wants to play he needs a DM, we have Biss and Sarr, who could do it, but they need to be TOLD to do it. We can’t leave to CBs alone even if I do think they are very good, when both are switched on….. one particularly.

I hope so too but he's still a kid and I do think some people need to temper their expectations this season because we're pinning a lot of hope on a lot of very young players.

There's even signs of the start of a pile-in on Odobert but he's what? 20 and is playing every minute of every game.

Like with Johnson, we have to understand that very young players will have dips in form, it's all part of their development and growth.

I do think that BJ needs to be braver and more aggressive at times but he's only 22 and already does a lot of things very well.
He's scored and assisted some very important goals for us already this season and I wouldn't like to think where we'd be without him.
We just need more options to change things up if the attack isn't working.

Why has Ange been so insistent that he has final say on who the club signs? No one forces him to say that.
I've used this before but if you're hungry and someone offers you a take out curry, you'd happily accept it.
That doesn't mean you wouldn't prefer to eat at a Michelin star restaurant, just that what you've been offered fills a gap that you need filling.

None of the players we've signed are bad players and plenty of them have the potential to become extremely good players, so of course Ange will sign off on them but let's be honest, most of them are very young and as such, a large section of our fanbase needs to reign their expectations in for a while because with any young team, there will be ups and downs.

I think this is a key point. If the club and Ange have agreed that this is a long term project with young players where we expect to see significant progress in the 3rd and 4th seasons then we just need to strap in for the ride.

Of course every manager would like the best players they can sign immediately so they can win as many trophies in the short term as possible but that just isn't a reality for all but a few managers/clubs. So they have to cut their cloth accordingly. Mixing development players with a few first team ready signings.

However, claiming that we forced certain player on the manager is veering into the territory of pushing a narrative because you just don't like player. When in reality none of us have any idea what qualities Ange identified in Johnson which he felt could work in his system.

Yes mate, I wouldn't say we've forced anyone on Ange because we've given him decent players that pretty much any manager would be happy to work with.
Johnson is a good player, with room to improve but as always after a loss, some folk jump into the blame game for the manager and players.

The main hope is that the board aren't thinking the same way as some fans and expecting unrealistic things this season because yes, Archie Gray cost 40 million quid (as an example) but he's far from providing instant success.

That's why I'm still very much in Ange's corner because I honestly don't think many, if any managers would be getting consistent results with such a young squad.

I do think we could maybe be asking some questions about some of the senior player's leadership qualities when things get tough but we're clearly in a rebuild and these things will always take time.

This really bugged me today.

Have to say this one still pisses me off so badly. You can see that he literally pulls his body away so he doesn't potentially get a kick.
Would love to think someone in dressing room called him out over this but let's be honest who would in our current crop?!

Was too afraid of getting hurt so allowed a free overhead kick for their first. Jimmy big bollox giving opposition players stick but like most lads like that he's a coward
I called him a coward yesterday and I still believe that. Gives it the big'un to.oppo players who have been sent off or on the edge of a scrap but he had an opportunity to actually help out the team yesterday and yea he likely would of taken a kick but he pulled out. Sums him and also our team up. So so weak

I still haven't forgiven him pulling out of challenge for Ipswich first goal. Imo he showed his true colours regarding his appetite to actually fight for the team.

4 posts for one mistake and zero posts about him scoring in 6 Spurs games in a row.

It's the Ange thread, all over again.

It wasn't a mistake, that's somethings you do by accident. Watch the video and you see he deliberately pulls out of it. Mistakes happen, we're spurs fans we've seen enough of them on the pitch. Making a conscious decision to not try and stop a shot is something alot worse than that.
As I said when you tried to call me out for supposed negativity on Anges thread, just mute me it'll lead to a better experience for both of us

What were the chances of him giving away a penalty, if he made a challenge? . Maybe that's why he didn't attempt a tackle. Calling him a coward is over the top. I do recall him getting a knock to his head earlier this season in a challenge.

Here on SC anything bad is just so bad, good things are 'meh' followed by a list of reasons as to why it wasn't as good as you think :D
Some of our fans should go and watch the premier league roundups that Sky do for the 90s-00s. Then come back and see how they feel.

BJ not going for that ball… we watched whole teams lie down and let people walk through unchallenged, mastered the art of diving out of the way of shots (blocking was for wimps) and my favourite… pointing at each other with a confused look each time we conceded. Which was a lot.

Oh god and Walkers silly grin after conceding a silly goal.
Thanks for bringing that memory back! 🤨🤣

Did I dream that Arsenal spent ~£75m on Pepe and had him as a starter?
