I don't know about other people but for me it was never about his ability, you could see he had the attributes, but seemed to lack the confidence to use them. Confidence as a footballer is everything, hopefully he continues to feel good, he's a nice kid and can offer a lot playing as he has been.

Yes fair enough.

But some fans were getting on his back and thats not going to help a young player who's lacking a little confidence.

Some could be a bit more patient imo.

What I thought really nice at the end was.some of the United fans wanting a picture with him and some saying well done... That will help with his confidence...

Of course but people are ****s. Would never jeer/boo our own players, so counter productive it's unreal, as I said confidence is everything, glad he's found his in the shit he was getting.

Why? People have opinions on players and share it on a messageboard.

No need to apologise for anything. Sometimes people get it right, sometimes they get it wrong.
The thing is even when critical, it wasn't wrong because he wasn't playing anywhere near as well as he is at the moment.

Confidence is on thr uo, and it's good to see him shifting a bit, and whilst he still doesn't really get past a man, the tactical tweaks that have happened recently are starting to play to his strengths.

As most said here, not playing well enough, but also hoped he would come good too...

It was a bit wrong, when people could show some patience.

He's a younger player and his numbers were still good in that period.

So yeah, way too much criticism at that point as a younger player in his first season and still putting up good numbers

Don’t think that’s because they think he’s a good player… OT is full of tourists and it’s been a huge big bear for Utd fans that a contingent of their home support do stuff like this.

Scoring winning goals will start to warm up those cold fu@@ers. The tackling back and doing a shift for the team, on top of the goals. Holy crackers Brennan the cup of love is overflowing.

Maybe more should turn off their socials😄

He should better all his stats from last year, I’d hope for that regardless, for any player at that age. But the potential some of us could see in him…. Fingers crossed he stays fit. He’s making it look easy atm.

Lets keep supporting our boys!

Coming along nicely ! Ange seems to have had confidence in him since he joined and always seems to select him.

As someone who's often critical of him, he's certainly finishing well right now.

He looks a lot more dangerous than our captain at the minute and I can't say that was on my bingo card this season.

Glad to see he’s doing better as I was one of the people who felt he wasn’t good enough, so hope he continues to prove me wrong!

Wonder if the change in system to a 4-3-3 and having Kulusevski playing behind him in midfield suits him more as well?

It also suits Kulusevski as he tends to prefer having a pacy outlet outside of him and Porro has been tucking in more with Ange’s preferred tactics.

Mate, get off your high horse and humble yourself.
I've basically been to every home game he's played in. The guy doesn't fit our system, if that description makes you feel better. He's better of sold now, before he becomes a Sessegnon.
I'm sure you'll be one of them dude's who bemoans the v value we get if we keep him for a few years.
Remember this convo.

I know people are having a go at the people that doubted him and bullied him

but that also seems to have lit a fire in him

so the bullies might even be taking credit for the upturn in form?!

That he was smiling before he scored the goal is a pretty good window into his mindset IMO - no nerves, pure confidence

Ultimately he's a 'moments' guy, for me.
- He's unlikely to ever be a probing technician who can 'pick the lock'.
- He won't score a rocket from 20 yards.
- He's unlikely to create something out of nothing.
- He won't go on mazy runs and marvel us with technique and skill
- He won't dictate play or lead the forward line.
- He won't get particularly (though he'll do OK) high numbers for chances created etc.

But what he can do is accumulate some pretty important stats in the Goals and Assists column.

Look at the Utd game - I doubt he actually spent that much time on the ball. He didn't really skin anyone/beat his man. But...

He scored one, and nearly scored another. He got an assist of sorts for Deki. He nearly got another with a dangerous ball across the box. That's invaluable and if he's doing that, while working hard in defense as well (which he's improving at) then he's a no brainer.

What I do think is that he needs to be complemented by someone on the other side who does fulfil those categories I put above, even if that player doesn't quite get the G+A numbers he does. My hunch is that would represent a nice balance. Or putting it another way: having two of him in the team probably wouldn't work that well.

Fingers crossed that Odobert and/or Moore can satisfy that role - I think there's good signs that both could

Being a right forward rather than right winger certainly helps him, and you can see, when we are building up a little slower, Deki or Porto giving the width to allow Brennan get on the shoulder of the defence in a lore central position.

Still feel there is more to come, but he is in great form at the moment. If he can kick on then he will be terrific. Could be in double figures for goals by the time the new year comes, amazing

Keep going Brennan,
Have been saying you shouldn’t be starting but very happy for you to be proving me very wrong 😉
