He'll probably somehow not win YPOTY, and it will be a travesty considering what he's doing and his age.
It’ll be between him and Nwanweri I reckon. If we turn it round the second half of the season it’s Gray’s all day long because he’s utterly sensational - easier to do what Nwanweri’s doing in a team doing well to do what Gray’s been doing in a struggling season.

Just put him in midfield please.
But he's not midfielder right now, maybe in the future he will be best 6 in the world but certainly not right now.
I don't think it's a coincidence that he's playing as a fullback for Leeds, England U21 and now us. Leeds record when he was playing as a midfielder has been really awful and he was struggling playing as a 6 for us during pre-season

He played FB at Leeds due to injuries, he is playing mostly CB and occasionally FB for us due to injuries.

England youth teams often play the players where they play currently for their club e.g. Dier played RB for us, played RB for England U21s, it means nothing.

Ange said the other day day he was signed as a fullback who might have a future in midfield some day.

He’s not really a right back and I was surprised Ange choose today to either rotate Porro or drop him for Gray.
Has actually been the glue of the back 4 for weeks. Literally the calm ams composed one amongst the chaos. Moving him to RB forba guy who has had 3 training session was an awful decision, not least because I don't think he is as good there against pacy wide players.

Could you post the clip of it? I saw someone say the on here but been unable to find it.

The way Ange is, it wouldn't surprise me if he was taking the piss, due to the fact we had to play him there due to injuries.

Let's not forget, he played mostly (if not exclusively) at CM in preseason and chose to play an AM (Donley) at LB.

Also, @Trix said there is no way we are paying the money we paid for him for a young FB.

While Gray has a lot of talent I don’t think he has the pace or the quick feet needed to be a top notch full back and certainly not a 40m one. It is unfortunate that he’s had to cover at CB and LB as it’s stopped him getting any minutes in the midfield

It is blindingly obvious that his whole skill set is suited to playing in midfield or at least the centre of the pitch where he has 360 degree options on where he can turn to keep possession and play passes, it also leans towards his great reading of the game off the ball rather than him defending 1v1 against quicker wingers being his main defensive duty. I’m sorry but it is extremely obvious where he will end up playing.

The midfield combo that will change things for us is a mix of three from Gray, Bentacur if he hits form, Bergvall, Kulusevski and Madders. Sarr or Bissouma then being used from the bench to inject energy into the side later in the game. Ideally it should be Gray sitting directly in front of the back four.

Sorry mate, not sure. I assume it was a presser.

As for preseason he started 2 games at CB, 2 games at LB and 1 game in midfield.

This is SC - nothing is blindingly obvious!

We're going to break this lad before he's much older.
I make that 1576 minutes (not including stoppage time) since 1st December, or the equivalent to 17.5 full 90 minute matches.

That's madness to be expected of anyone, for an 18 year old it's insanity.

It's so frustrating that it feels like we'll do absolutely anything but put this guy into midfield. Not even when on the pitch there are two centre backs, two other fullbacks, and an absolutely non-existent centre of midfield.
