It was a risk for Ange to leave him at RB but one that ultimately paid off. He was better second half and can come off head held high and knowing the manager has faith in him. Getting hooked could’ve really knocked him.

yeah but that's not his position
I think we need to understand the most important thing for Gray is growing his skill set. Playing RB against an incredible City side will help him grow. Remember Ledley had an early season being used in midfield some of the time. It’s about rounding the players.

Gray has the potential to be a Rodri, we have to expose to as much possible to get him there. If Pep was our manager he would be playing exactly where he is.

I just cannot wait to see him get minutes in midfield.
Tonight was a struggle but he coped well enough and it's all good experience for him.

Sit in row 6 next to the away fans, thought he was superb although I missed who lost their player for their goal

That was a great experience for him to get through that game.

I do think its a shame Ben Davies doesnt play RCB. Think it would help Archie loads to have an experienced head next to him, talking to him. Nothing against Romero but dont get the impression he's that type of player.

Doesn’t matter.

Defensively he is not ready for that role and a mistake in the Bissouma/Bentancur role turns into goals.

That is probably his long term position- but not now.
I’d imagine being at RB and being at CM ask completely different things defensively.

He played a little bit in the preseason and looked lost defensively. He is fine developing right where he is. He is an amazing prospect who is 18 and still developing despite his price tag. I am thrilled he is at Spurs - and I already caused a few raised eyebrows in the thread when I said his upside is Rodri, I have not changed my mind about that.

But he is not ready for that just yet, and no need to add that pressure to him now. Long career ahead.

Was up against it tonight. Looking forward to him moving into the middle as he’s very composed.
Nunes isn’t even a winger? Not sure he did well to be honest but he’s just not a RB. I said this when he joined.
It’s just a big part of the failure of the club in building a squad that we even consider him a RB because he filled in there during a leeds injury crisis last season.
He got torn to pieces a fair few times at rb in the championship he just doesn’t have the pace or the defensive instincts
