I maintain his debut was the best I've seen either live or on Tv for a very young keeper from a much weaker league. He's got all the attributes needed and if he improves he's going to be something special. A top top keeper in a year or two. Happy to see who's best at the moment when Vic is fit but I'm certain he;'s best long term.

Being totally objective the Gabriel back post was no different from Vic getting blocked.
If you are going to do that, and I agree (its not just Vicario, all keepers and defenders get blocked by arsenal from corners), what Kinsky does is have a more aggressive start position from set pieces.

You saw it in the first free kick arsenal had last night out side, Kinsky was almost on his 6 yard box line and the free kick ended up being shot near post, which he punched away.

Same for corners, a more aggressive starting position.

Although, Arsenal do this bloody well, using american football tactics to create the space, or block movement from key areas, defenders and goalkeepers, surprised they are the only ones doing it as they have such success at it, and its fooking annoying dealing with it for any defence due to the confusion it can create.

Clever stuff, but Kinsky has a much better starting position from these.

He needs to be able to stop a shot as I don’t think Vic lets that in, he also needs to quicken up his play because he makes a everyone nervous..

He got caught once but he's drawing in the press, it looks scary, especially when we've been used to Lloris but it's actually quite the talent.

It is, it's key to making the space up the pitch.

I spend a lot of time thinking my lad is too risky doing the exact same, I always get the same response from him 'that's what thr coaches want and I can do it'.. whwre as I'm telling him to not fuck around with it and he ain't a CB!!

I love his relaxed and confident bordering cocky approach to playing with the ball. Yes it's heart in mouth moments, but I like that, once he's fully upto speed, he's gonna use this so well to create space for the outfield guys, and with his pretty pinpoint distribution, is gonna create many chances for us.

Plus, I never once felt worried at corners or set pieces, he seems to have an aura about him that he wants to own that box. He punched so many corners away, as well as caught some crosses. This is something vicario struggles with majorly.

I'm happy with this signing fully. He will have some moments where he gets caught out, at 21 years old, that's totally fine as he's only going to keep getting better.

He does but he also misses a couple of those catches and punches from set pieces completely.
If vicario had been in goal we would have conceded in 1st 15 mins

EDIT: I am a big fan of Vicario, just doesnt command his box in the same way

He looks the bollocks for me , love his attitude and confidence.
No worries with him being bullied, first few corners he was throwing arsenal players out of his way to punch or catch confidently.
Midfield didn't help him out at all, as they seem to keep doing leaving grey snd spence trapped in the corner.
This whole ange project only works with bravery, and this lad looks full of it.

To be fair, Rio sounded like he'd been drinking or something else. Was so overexcited all game.

Promising signs from Kinsky and, like Bergvall and Gray, he looks like someone who'll learn from any mistakes he makes quickly.

I think the good thing is that his head didn't start to drop at all after the close calls and misjudgement for the second, and he was still passing the ball around with confidence, still looking to claim crosses etc. He got penned in for the corner goal, but to me he had the mindset of wanting to make the ball his whenever it was in the air, and that's probably the only real criticism I have of Vicario as he seems to want to stay back and leave it to the defence more often than not which can invite unnecessary scrambles and pressure in general.

Only thing he needed to do was dispose of the ball a bit quicker as I think too many times the attacker managed to get a bit too close for comfort and it's something that got the crowd up every time.

I was irate that Spurs were on Peacock yesterday.

I completely agree. Jon Champion always does that kind of stuff though. I remember last year we played away at Fulham in our tan/beige kits. Champion would not shut up about them. He seems to get stuck in on one thing, and can't let go.
Yep! Yet Eriksen one of the greatest first touches on the touchline I have ever seen and Jon Champion didn't even change his tone.

The hope has to be both will learn from each other and drive each other on
Vic will never be as good on the ball. Kinsky was brought up to be a ball playing keeper, it’s engrained in him.

Kinsky might reach Vic’s levels of shot stopping though.

You can hope right! I think the ideal is Kinsky just grows and grows and replaces him this year. Vic would generate money in Italy and we can get Keeley through as 2nd choice.

I'd say Keeley needs to keep playing regularly for a while longer if we have hopes for him to be something for us.

So hopefully Vic stays at least another season.

From what I’ve seen so far I still feel he should be first choice even with Vicario comes back.

Even when losing to Everton he made some fantastic saves.

Vicario is a good shot stopper but gets bullied at corners far too much and been a few instances where he’s shouted at younger players but not had balls to shout at the more experienced ones - not very good leadership from someone who is supposed to be in the leadership group.

Kinsky just seems to inspire more confidence and get that feeling his ceiling is way higher.

Maybe we then need to look at likes of Austin and Keeley to see if they can be promoted to regular number 2 duties if Vicario then seeks a move.
