I still am impressed overall, he's a young keeper and yesterday was in a hostile environment and just got on with it so he's clearly mentally strong as many would've folded in that environment especially after a couple of dodgy moments.
His distribution is a weapon for sure, we just don't know how to exploit it yet so it looked aimless at times. He was really strong at corners and generally made good decisions. He's just been dropped into the fastest league in the world so it's no shock he's going to have moments until he fully adjusts but I think the biggest adjustment is from our forwards making themselves available to give high pressers a headache

Unquestionably did well, overall, last night

But ultimately he’ll be judged on the type of shot he let in so let’s see how he does with a few more of those situations when it’s a decent effort but he should be saving it

He’s been here a week, faces a North London derby away from home, on a scale he’s never seen. Behind a make-shift defense. Outfield players and a front line playing badly.

Mistakes or not, what valuable experience so early in his Spurs career. This is not a game to judge him by. I just see some great signs.

Kinsky and Vicario have time on their side to improve all aspects of their game. Just need to make sure we rotate them enough to keep developing

I disagree with most stuff in here. I thought he handled the corners well, much better than Vicario does, against a side that make it their main tactic- a bit like Tamworth with that donkey throwing it in. He distributes really well and very coolly - it’s the players in front of him I don’t trust. He kicks really well - he gets great distance but keeps it just above head height, which in itself is a great weapon and something our attack need to work on. And I think he did well to get fingertips on Trossards shot and, yes, I’ve seen Vicario let plenty of those in. He’s a better keeper for his age than Vicario all round and he doesn’t give me five heart attacks a game like Vicario does. A cool character.
I think the bolded is a massive reach mate, no way any keeper is happy with letting that in.

bright future ahead of him but those need to be saved.

Disagree with people saying he had shaky moments. He was overly confident which isn't shaky in the slightest. Maybe fans feel shaky but I was actually encouraged that he kept playing his game. Just adjusted a bit where he would release it that bit quicker when closed down. He just needs to not let the attacker get too close before he releases it. I think that's just not being used to the tempo of the league and how quick players can close down. Loves his cruyff pass as well despite the commentary was incredible recovery and kept us in possession.

If you watch his distribution objectively, it tells a different story to what the commentators and crowd were reacting to. He had a couple of mistakes, but the “taking too long” is because he’s relaxed and a deliberate ploy to draw them in and make more space for our players. He does that every game
Absolutely. It’s been mentioned elsewhere here, but it’s straight out of the Ederson playbook.

Hope he keeps his head up. Tough game and environment for a kid. Has to save that 2nd goal though.

As nervy as it is, once he gets up to speed with the tempo, it is an element of breaking any sort of press. The media/commentary LOVE to pounce on these moments.

Much like Romero does as time, you invite just a little bit of pressure in order to move "one chess piece" and you hope that a few quick passes out that your side is through and on essentially an overload.

I'm a big fan but felt a lot of our problems were centerd around him, we went backwards far too much, we didn't give him enough options and he took too much time on the ball slowing everything down.

Still impressed so far and he will learn from it

He now knows what an NLD is like, and will learn from it.
Loved how he was going for it in the air.
Was inches from copying Forster’s howler against manure.

Still v early days, but what a find this dude looks! Love the way he comes out and claims. Credit to all involved at the Club with this acquisition.

I hope this post ages well, and im not eating these words come Thursday morning
It didn't age too well

But while we shouldn't get carried away we've at least plugged one key gap in the squad. We need to give him time.

Attacking LB, quick LCB, holding 6, RW, replacement for Richie, still plenty of work to do by the end of the summer. Need 2 of these in 2 weeks, give or take...

Horrible shot in fairness though. It bounced precisely where any keeper wouldn't want it to.

Really love his style as a keeper, thought he was fine in a difficult situation. Should have been stronger on the second goal as everyone has said but his distribution is as much about the receivers as it is the distribution itself.

peacock commentators were just as bad in the states with regards to him. it was like they had seen the devil with how we were using out of the back. meanwhile, raya had more misplaced passes in probably half the touches

Tbf it winds me up when pundits and co-comentators are constantly talking about their being a time to 'get rid' and 'clear your lines'. It's not the 90s anymore, there is a reason that pretty much every top manager asks their team to play out from the back as much as possible.

I was irate that Spurs were on Peacock yesterday.

I completely agree. Jon Champion always does that kind of stuff though. I remember last year we played away at Fulham in our tan/beige kits. Champion would not shut up about them. He seems to get stuck in on one thing, and can't let go.

Thought the commentators were desperate to get on his back. Swear Rio’s closet Gooner
I think some pundits in general love to create a narrative based on a perceived weakness, to help build the pressure.
