I thought Kinsky was shaky with the back passes in the first half. Not scared, but just slow. It seems he was inviting players to close him which caused panic, or he totally misjudged the pace of a derby
To me it looked like there were rarely any good passing options, especially in the first half, and as he doesn't want to just hoof the ball he took too long at times.
Arsenal's man-to-man press nullified our threat and build-up phase throughout the game. With the way we set up, it's almost becoming the norm against us.

But that's where he has to go long.

I think it’s a North American term which just means a commentator who provides extra information etc. it’s come up before on here and that’s how I know about it!
Hahahahaha corr thought we'd gone back to the 80's for a second 🤣

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I think he has been great, he is 21 in a new country and has handled it very well but i do feel the whole Vicario has been replaced is really premature

Remains to be seen mate, I think vicario is probably a better shot stopper overall, but then kinsky is better with his feet and at set pieces, tbf hasn't faced too many shots, trossards last night he'd have expected to save normally, awkward bounce, good finish, so yeah could be premature at thr moment.

Yeah, i think eventually he will be No1 for sure, but i can see that being one or two seasons down the line

I think he’s here to provide genuine competition for Vicario and I think that’s what he will do.

We so rarely seem to have genuine competition for places but we need to do more of this if we want to be any good.

If you watch his distribution objectively, it tells a different story to what the commentators and crowd were reacting to. He had a couple of mistakes, but the “taking too long” is because he’s relaxed and a deliberate ploy to draw them in and make more space for our players. He does that every game

Great start but to be fair Vic saves that Trousard shot.

Yeah this is my feeling. I wouldn't expect a top class shot stopper to let such a soft shot in, bobble or no bobble. Not saying Kinsky won't develop into a top class shot stopper but that goal was really soft.

Distribution wasn’t great today to be honest. Almost caught in possession a couple of times and his long balls were pretty aimless. Promising but I don’t think he’s at Vicario level yet.

Yeah his distribution wasn't great and direrctly resulted in us giving up possession consistently in the first half. It was driving me nuts because I know he's better than that.

Do you not think that sometimes that’s down to the players though! I felt there was a lack of movement and people “showing” for the ball, especially first half!

we were also very passive in our press which invited more pressure! I think he did okay but the Trossard goal I’d expect him to save.

Spot on. Hard to track with tv angles. But there were a number of “misplaced” passes out the back aimed at Sonny or BJ. Some were off, but others were so far off, it was obvious that the player intended for the pass either stopped their run, were too slow, or just didn’t even make an attempt. Something that should not be a surprise as Bj in particular has been shocking for months with his tepid performances. Rarely puts in a gritty, exhaustive shift. Just watch him in approach play or tracking back. Rarely runs hard. Minces around the field jogging. It’s no wonder he and a few others end up making the GK and defenders look like they are making mistakes.

I disagree with most stuff in here. I thought he handled the corners well, much better than Vicario does, against a side that make it their main tactic- a bit like Tamworth with that donkey throwing it in. He distributes really well and very coolly - it’s the players in front of him I don’t trust. He kicks really well - he gets great distance but keeps it just above head height, which in itself is a great weapon and something our attack need to work on. And I think he did well to get fingertips on Trossards shot and, yes, I’ve seen Vicario let plenty of those in. He’s a better keeper for his age than Vicario all round and he doesn’t give me five heart attacks a game like Vicario does. A cool character.

Totally understand both sides here, yes he looked a bit shaky, but Ederson would look shaky if his defence kept giving him hospital balls for 90 minutes. He's a young keeper making his third start for the club a week after he signed, give him a break.
We setup to play like that, what do we think Pep and Ederson would do in that situation?
He was sold a bad deal last night with a woeful setup. He had no time to pick his pass because of their press, yet itswhowearematecoglu wouldn't ask him to change.
Yes he should be saving that shot, and a confident keeper having a good game will save it. He was exposed too much, we offered zero protection for him.

His performance, for me, is entirely on Ange.

Impressive start for a new guy coming into a new country/league with new team mates (who are not a settled defensive partnership themselves) and higher intensity levels.

Only got caught out once where I think the change of pace of the closing player surprised him but even then he was brave and quick to dive at the players feet to claim the ball (can't remember who it was).

He's impressed me so far and will certainly be pushing Vicario for a starting place when Vic is back to fitness

Yeah you might be right. We lost so many balls that seem to be hitting their target against Liverpool.

Although as much as some fans seem to be denying it he was flustered and that also had an influence on his decision making and execution.

I still am impressed overall, he's a young keeper and yesterday was in a hostile environment and just got on with it so he's clearly mentally strong as many would've folded in that environment especially after a couple of dodgy moments.
