Why?Good move for him.
Because he needs to play, and I think a newly promoted team to La Liga will give him more opportunity than an established one fighting for European spots. He won't have a language issue and will find settling in Barcelona a lot easier than Hull or Plymouth. Also puts him in the shop window for us if he has a decent season. Why?
Does seem an utterly pointless signing, not cheap either
Interesting. I would have thought Plymouth would get him more ready to play for Spurs though. Do you see this as us writing him off with the shop window bit?Because he needs to play, and I think a newly promoted team to La Liga will give him more opportunity than an established one fighting for European spots. I think that is a tad unfair, he had a good record in SA for his age and he is big, strong and has good movement. I can totally see why we went for him - I thought he looked a threat when he started getting minutes for us and has just been incredibly unlucky with injuries and their timings. Sometimes things just don't work out. Maybe he can show everybody what he can do in Spain.Very, very strange signing given the phenomenal amount of young forward talent coming out of South America. It seems like we just saw he was decent in the air and overlooked the rest of his game.

But if we want him to make it here and by extension the Premier League I feel an intra league loan would have been more beneficial and serve a much better litmus test over whether he can have a future at Tottenham or not.Because he needs to play, and I think a newly promoted team to La Liga will give him more opportunity than an established one fighting for European spots. We want to make a return on our investment as well. The guy is only 20 so he could still come good. But if we want him to make it here and by extension the Premier League I feel an intra league loan would have been more beneficial and serve a much better litmus test over whether he can have a future at Tottenham or not.
Perhaps we are already resigned to the fact that he's now surplus and now looking to merely recoup our outlay with the real emergence of Lankshear.
Not writing him off as yet but such is the way, it's a small window of opportunity and/or being in the right place at the right time to carry favour with management. We want to make a return on our investment as well. The guy is only 20 so he could still come good.
You can turn that in right now, sort of nickname they come up with for their players on ArsemaniaGiven he's clearly fallen behind Big Willie in the pecking order surely you have your answer

Don’t get the way some think. We complain that we miss out on these ‘wonder kids’ and how much they cost later, but then want to write them off so quickly when they don’t look like prime Messi from the get go.The lad is 20 and only joined last summer, had an injury and went on loan injured. Are we really writing him off already?
