Are we talking loan or sale? Not sure I am overly fussed either way.

I suppose if we think he is a long-term prospect - then a loan to an English team would make more sense.

are you stupid,? it clearly stated “Purchase a high % of the pass”.

In the little we've seen of him his technique etc suggests that he could be a good striker but not best suited to Ange's style of football.

But we've seen so very little it's hard to tell really. Maybe the club just want to cut the fat from the squad and maybe Lankshear has shown them enough to leapfrog him in terms of squad depth.

Was thinking he will be loaned out, but reckon sell is possibility with good sell-on percentage especially if it makes incomings possible.

We supposedly paid £13 million. Which is twice what we got for Troy Parrott. I’m struggling to see us recoup that, based on his achievements to date. So a loan seems most likely.

Surely a loan is very sensible. Then I guess we have a decision to make on what the best course of action is for Dane and Will. I wonder if keeping one for the first half of the season and the EL group stages gives us coverage and that player first team game time ?

Bit of an odd signing in hindsight, never really seemed part of any plan or looked like being given a chance.

Think we need to give him a full season out on loan somewhere where he will start matches before we decide whether to cash in. I think the Championship would be a good move for him, maybe there's a few Spanish coaches that would take him.

In terms of price, age and senior experience his signing was comparable to that of Bergvall. But if preseason is a guide Lucas seems to have Ange’s trust in a way Alejo never did.

Was that not due to them saying he wasn't going to be rushed into the squad, and then when he did, he got the bad injury.

The loan was shit and didn't work out, but again was still injured when the loan started anyway!

Yeah nothing against him, injuries obviously haven't helped but I just remember it coming out of nowhere and then he was never quite involved. Always felt like bit of a odd one.

This is why young players should be very wary of big clubs coming in for them after one decent season in a relatively weak league, especially on the other side of the world. When the plan is to go out on loan in Europe first then one bad injury, a change of manager, or a loss of form sees that season wasted, and then the manager of your parent club has mentally moved on to other players. You're out of sight, out of mind. If you don't have a good pre-season at the start of year two then it's a second loan and you're possibly on the list to be sold.

Djed Spence being a bit of an exception to that rule for us. He's really taken the opportunity to impress pre-season and might just have saved his career at the club - but it's still not guaranteed.

I think he got screwed ovwr but that Seville loan tl be fair.

Hopefully at Southampton he gets to play and show his value.

Would potentially be a nice move if accurate. Right level. Manager stylistically who wants to play football and have the ball if I recall.
