TOTTENHAM TO MAKE LATE HOJBJERG BID

Tottenham are hoping to pull off an audacious late move for Southampton captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Efforts are underway today to lure the Denmark international to North London.

Two other Premier League teams, Arsenal and Everton, are also understood to be keen on the former Bayern Munich player.

Hojbjerg has played a pivotal role in Southampton’s recent revival and boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will not want to lose him, meaning a deal may be more likely in the summer

Always impresses when we play him but feels like a total BS story. He's their captain and plays every game. We only seem to be in the market for loans too!

Probably from the same source as the made up Barca/Richarlison story yesterday...

In all honesty if this was to happen it would have happened with the KWP loan signing as a sweetener? I mean it could still have been discussed at the time but hey ho

I'm actually a big fan of Hojberg but I'd still be very surpised if we were interested.

I'd be even more surprised if Saints let him leave at this late stage, unless they want Wanyama back as part of the deal ;)

Click bait/viewing figure bait from sky. Pretty obvious Southampton won’t let there captain leave this late in the window.

They would be insane to let him go, and even more mad to think Wanyama would represent a viable replacement

Total non starter

Wouldn't be a terrible move by any means, but very late on now.

Wanyama to go back to the Saints the other way....?

'Audacious'? I've seen this word used in a questionable fashion a number of times recently re: signings.

Def: 'showing a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks'

'Audacious' is Bale. Not Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Nothing against the guy though - I always remember him having a terrific strike on him.

Can’t imagine Saints would be open to selling their captain whilst they’re in a relegation battle. Can believe we’d have enquired whilst doing the KWP deal but would be amazed if it went further than that.

Ehrm. Always saw him as more of an 8, which the squad is absolutely littered with. The sort of signing that I'd be thinking "hmm, maybe he could become a decent player for us after some time with Poch this time last year, before we brought in Ndombele and Lo Celso, vastly superior players.

Feels manufactured to me. Considering we've just done the KWP deal and now we go back in for their club captain ...

He would be an almost perfect signing... But there's absolutely nothing in this - Probably, anyway.
