Isn't this the Højbjerg thread? Jesus christ, figured with 6 new pages we might have signed him, and its all the same bullshit from the Winks thread in Spurs Chat.

It looks like PEH wants to move to us. Jose wants him. In the last year of his contract so a reasonable fee.

It's got deadline day written all over it.

How often does a Spurs transfer NOT have deadline day written all over it?

Winks just isn’t a top 4-calibre player, for me.

I know we romanticise him on here because he came from our academy and was one of very very few youth players to flourish under Pochettino, but in reality, he wouldn’t get into any of our rivals’ teams.

Teams don't win stuff. Squads do.

Sissoko is the one who should be worried .. Not winks.. And we need two players for each position... Hojberg wont be playing 60+ games next season ... Winks is versatile so he can play as number 8 as well ...plus winks is homegrown. We are already short on that front
Well done. Possibly the most sensible post you have made since you arrived. ?

The "bullshit" all stems from ITK about Winks (in relation to PEH's incoming transfer) in this thread, so it's not unreasonable to expect some discussion about it. Until we actually have some more news on PEH, there's not really much else to discuss in here!

Anyway, in my view if I were a Spurs player with ambitions to win silverware, then I would be welcoming competitive new players to help raise the levels rather than worrying about how it affects my starting position. As a pro footballer, you would think Winks would have the confidence in his ability to think he can rise to the challenge and improve from being around better players.

Why should he not be worried if another player is brought into the squad to compete for the position he currently plays? I think it's quite a natural response, doesn't mean he wants to leave does it? I'm sure he will find regular match day squad positions and not only where he currently plays.
He played further forward, with Rice in his current position, for England in their last game and was impressive with his forward passing and movement, even got a shot off.

Are they? I thought the general consensus was that they weren't that bothered?

Nah some are and the others are doing what every fan does when they lose a good player which is pretend they are better off without him. Happened on here a few times.

I think their main forum I'd down at the moment, but on one of the others they want £15m and KWP...

Is he signing or what?
Read a report that West Ham want him.
Get this done ffs

West Ham will spend
We don’t
Should be taking him and 15m for hojberg - no brained

So what is the way forward? Hojbjerg can go for free if he runs down his contract. Spurs know this right? It also seems like Spurs know Hojbjerg will refuse any other move. So he won't be sold to another club, and we won't get Walker-Peters unless we agree to their terms.
Do you think the club should just call the whole thing off because they want to do a straight swap and that is not acceptable? Or are you saying Saints need time to negotiate? The thing is, like I said, Spurs probably know that Hojbjerg will just threaten to sit out his contract, so arn't we stuck with the swap and be done with it? It's not right, he is worth more, but it is what it is. We either do the swap and get a good, young right back in, get rid of a disruptive player or we lose them both. That's the choice isn't it?

This is silly now. Is this Levy messing around? Same with all these transfers, they always seem to become protracted sagas

He doesn't want Everton or West Ham, and we don't value him at 30m with a year left on contract. Spurs and player clearly working together
