Every journalist gets things wrong - there is no full proof journo - but as track records go Hytner is one of the best. If he says it I rate it pretty highly.

I always find there's a consistent pattern in how legit transfers are reported and this one is certainly following that trend.

On a side tangent, this is exactly why we shouldn't sell Foyth and instead loan him out. Best case scenario you get him some experience and he starts to get where he needs to be, worst case scenario he doesn't quite do it but is good enough to add some value. Selling players before you give them the chance to add some value is dumb imo.
Agreed. We were pretty terrible at utilising the loan system under Poch but we should certainly be using it to get fringe players like Foyth, Skipp, Parrott and maybe even Sessegnon, serious gametime if they aren't going to get chances at Spurs.

This will be even more true if we miss out on Europa (which tbf is only a guarantee of 6 games anyway).

The discussion at Spurs has turned to how Mourinho – who has used Ndombele only sparingly – can create a platform for him to thrive. Signing Højbjerg to play a disciplined role in front of the back four with Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, another expensive recruit, in more advanced positions in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 has merit.

From the Hytner article. I am excite.

Yeah, confident this will be a very good signing.

Already starting to feel better about next season.

Yeh, he seems to have contacts with players and agents is my guess. He follows the narrative of what is given to him, but often that information isn't exactly true, more to put pressure on the club or other things. But he clearly doesn't make stuff up.

Hytner's article does make me feel a bit better about everything. Not because I think this a word class player, but mainly because its showing some belief that Ndombele isn't completely out of the plans. I still see something in that player and am cautiously optimistic.

I do remember when Southampton first bought him he was VERY highly rated.

But not really seen enough of him over here tbh.

Guardiola saw PEH (at like 18 years old) as his next Busquets when he was at Bayern. He loved his talent, but just didn't have the time to work out before Pep left. That said, the talent is clearly there.

Even if he is solid and a leader that's enough. Henderson is nowhere near to being in the top bracket of players but he leads by example and is really consistent.

He could quite easily be the sort of player who knits everything together and becomes an excellent signing. Fingers crossed.

The Guardian are fairly cautious about calling transfers so I’d say this could be moving along now

Whilst I don’t rate the player, our midfield is so horrible and KWP seems on the way out that if we could do a good swap here I’d do it.

But it could easily be an article about 2 + 2 = 4. Doesn’t take much to put this particular sum together.

Where the fuck have you been? Will never forget your confident emergence upon the SC scene last summer with a brazen, teasing username

Unfortunately I think Mourinho sees Ndombele and Lo Celso as two options for one place (both #8's). I could be wrong but I'm dubious that he's going to play both together on a regular basis. Most likely a midfield of Holjberg and Lo Celso with 4 attacking players in front imho. Hope I'm wrong though
