I think Hojbjerg will be quality addition in our side. He has been in premier league long enough to understand the physical demand of the league plus he looks natural leader. Also I always rated him higher than someone like soumare or denis zakaria. I think the way we are trying to play under Mourinho will suit Hojbjerg more than Soumare / Zakaria.

I’m not sure you’ve watched Zakaria much the last 12-18 months. He’s insanely good. Big and fast. Can play legit DM. Played CB in a back 3 and dominated against Bayern. Can get forward into attack as well. He’d instantly be the best passer and defender on our team.

he’s like if Sissoko could dribble, pass, shoot and had positional awareness plus being 7 years younger.

I’d gladly sell any player on our team if it got us Zakaria.

Not sure we should be so quick to sniff our noses up at players we normally would do. If that player is brought in to do a job for the system we want and they can do that job fairly well then I'd be happy. We have teams playing 10 times better than us with players who are 10 times worse.

I think we need to find our identity again and I'm happy for us to do that with whoever Jose deems suitable. I thought we needed just players with stature and world class ability but now that I can see just how little I think can come from the set of players we currently have I'd be happy with just a team who plays a certain way and plays that way well and is on the way up. Bit of a reality check after Sheffield United.

Pipe dream mate. He'd be the equivalent of Liverpool signing Van Dyke but Levy won't allow it and I doubt Zakaria would want to come anyway.

I think we’ll find it tough to compete with Everton since they’ll have a transfer budget. At this point even some Championship sides could blow us out of the water.

We took out a 175m bank of England loan to keep the lights on and wheels running. I don't think we're as skint as shutting it down but it's clear the club are putting out to all press that we will only be doing free transfers, loans, and spend what we sell.

Just like every other clubs currently. Alasdair before PL restart said that we will focus on swaps/loans and fees and already we want Milik/Aarons/Hojbjerg. It's also better strategy than saying we have a lot of money to spend, worked for Arsenal last summer.

Where did you get it? I think Chelsea offered Willian 120k with 2 year contract whereas Willian wanted 3 year contract.

Highly unlikely, they are trying to reduce their wage bill, hence the players been forced to take 12% paycut.

I actually think we are a little desperate for more intelligent attackers. Willian is that.

I agree that age and salary are not an advantage though.

I'm seriously worried about our attack. Against United, Bergwijn was the only one who was doing the right things, against West Ham we were wasteful and Lucas struggled to get involved and against Sheff Utd, the whole lot of them made terrible decisions on and off the ball.

We need a more intelligent attacker
