I love all the optimism here and I'm primarily just very happy that we actually sign somebody, anybody, that is in their twenties and can run around a bit on a grass pitch. However, I'm also a cynical realist, and I don't think Højbjerg is the silver bullet to all our problems. He'll probably fit in well and provide much needed depth - actual depth. Not just depth in numbers but in skills and fit-for-purpose. But I'm still left thinking that we would want another CM signing in the perfect world.

Just looked up his other achievements on Wikipedia and was surprised to see who he last played for

592 appearances, 2 goals. What a career.

People are harsh though. He wasn't great, and definitely not close to the level of Carrick. But he wasn't awful.

Also, is this the first time that we have actually been given a video of a medical. We are really trying to milk this signing..

Watching all of the materials that the club is putting out with him and I am incredibly impressed with him as a person and proud he will be representing the club. He will quickly become a fan favorite if his strengths at Southampton and his talents at Bayern that made Pep such a fan show through because he has a real strong character and seems like a proper club man.
