well that came out of nowhere. Heard they just got promoted back to La Liga aswell. Would be good to have some english players doing well in leagues other than the EPL.

Although with his chequered past im sure its a wait and see ..

Best move for him i think. Gets to experience La Liga which i rate as the best in the world especially with Real's recent purchases. Zaragoza played some fantastic football the last time they were in La Liga so he will be playing in a good footballing side and get to play at the Camp Nou, Bernabeu etc

Wasn't Pennant in talks with AC Milan or Real Madrid a few months ago? Then nothing materalised because of his wage demands.. Now he's off to Zaragoza.. lol.

Although they have just been promoted again Zaragoza are a quality club. They play quality football and have had a host of top players, both Milito's, Aimar, Ayala etc. I know he was in talks with Real but they were also linked with Adam Johnson and eventually signed Faubert on loan so January was quite a crazy time for them.

They scored a lot of goals, more than most side in the bottom half but they also leaked a lot of goals and drew too many. They kept most of their top players though and should do well next season

the loss of milito was crucial to them and their abysmal away form. if you're into betting, an away loss from zaragoza in the upcoming season is almost always a sure bet.

Wasn't Milito with them when they went down?

Anyway, a good move for Pennant and it will be interesting to see how he does there. I don't think he'll be a success out there though.

He left after they were relegated. Do try and keep up.

The loss of form of the other Milito was another key reason. I think he scored 2 or 3 in the 2nd half of the season after ~15 in the first half.

SSN have said he'll earn £6.4 mil after tax over 3 years and get a Villa.
What have Zaragoza been watching?
They'll be candidates for the drop if he's their best signing.

Fair play to any lad who goes abroad to try himself, however I would like to know how strong those links to real and Milan last january were. If its just about the money I have less sympathy.

He's a good player with good technique. He should have moved to europe sooner, really.
