I thought he spoke to Ange weeks ago and was already excited about the project
Yes, but that doesn't mean it will just happen over night. He was always going to be back late after the Euro's. Fact is we are less likely to try and rush it through when we know the player is very keen.

Maybe, or maybe he's just said I've had a long season with the Euro's. I'm really keen, but want to completely switch off and enjoy the break with my family before discussing it....... Or Maybe Mendes is moving his chess pieces around first, or even just making us wait in order to extract the best deal he can. Etc etc.

I mean there could be numerous reasons as to why it's not happened yet.
Maybe Pedro is really into a new tv box set right now and just doesn't want to be disturbed until he has finished it, he could also be landscaping his garden and wants to get it just right, Gary O'Neil might have an ongoing Padel series with Pedro which currently sits at 1-1 and they agreed to play the decider on 10th August so everything is on hold until then.

We just don't know :ROFLMAO:

But what we do know is that as soon as they pick up the phone and Ange says "mate", its a done deal.

Didn’t mendes shaft us on a deal about a year or 2 ago ?

I appreciate that I was just responding to the comments about him not agreeing with us yet

I find it so bizarre that such a key part of our summer transfer strategy seems to hinge on Mendes not screwing us again. Maybe I'm overthinking it. 🤔

Worth remembering that Wolves are a strangely run club.

If Wolves sell Neto then they'll need a replacement. If they need a replacement then they'll go to Mendes to find one. Highly possible that this is a complex chain deal involving Mendes negotiating with us for Neto and also negotiating with Wolves for their replacement.

Kind of begs the question:

IF Levy and Mendes were locked in a room, and the only way out was for them to reach a deal - would either person make it out?

Wolves fans are already talking like they know they'll be without him.
Clearly a deal that's doable unlike Eze.

I think Wolves are definitely ready to let Neto go, the question is whether that will be to us or someone like Liverpool or Arsenal, who seem less keen but are likely to pay Wolves and Mendes more.

What a surprise. With the quality of their squad they can absorb his injury risk better than us. Plus they probably owe some money to Wolves for Nunes so can do a deal on him.
