Werner is one of our more divisive players in the squad. Plenty of people on here agree with your reservations on Werner.

The neg reactions is for the tone and overly negative post, at half time, in a pre-season friendly.

Didn’t realise there was a time span or limit on when you could post about a player nowadays on SC.😉 Never used to be. Noted.

With Hojbjerg off to Marseille, that makes our net spend so far this summer around £12.5m.

Time to stop pissing about and actually bring some players in.

I don’t understand one thing. We used to target really top top high profile players such as Lautaro, Dybala, Luis Diaz, Vlahovic, Cuti Romero.

Now we seemed/seem to target either unproven talented youngsters like Doue, Antonio Nusa OR second tier players (those who don’t start for their NT) like Eze, Toney, or Neto (all are back ups of their NT). We did the same when we got the likes of Porro, Vicario, Van De Ven (very good player though).

I mean where is the club ambition? The real top tier attackers like Nico Williams, Dani Olmo, Julian Alvarez, Xavi Simmons, and soon if PSG get Osimhen, Muani and Ramos will be available. I know no guarantee we will get them but why not at least try? I mean Eze or Toney are good players but with the same amount of money (or even less), we can try Nico Williams or Dani Olmo or Julian Alvarez for example.
I'm sure we all love Spurs on here, but as much as we love the club we have to be realistic - and you are not being realistic at all by listing those 'top tier' attackers and thinking they'd come to Spurs , it just won't happen given our record of winning things compared to the other clubs who'll be in for those players (or the record of the clubs they currently play for).

You honestly don't think the new recruitment team (who'll be massively eager to prove their worth in their new jobs) aren't working hard enough to bring players in ?

Its upto the club to change that.

I don't want to go all pro and anti ENIC but they have now done all the background work with the training ground and stadium and now it's time to build the team

I'm not saying we have to buy player X and show were a big club, absolutely not. But what I am saying is if a player comes up that we like and he is a big name comes up that we like them we should absolutely be in the mix and try to persuade that player to come

Maybe you're right and he won't come but if we offer the wages, if we sell the club correctly, show our ambition and make him feel wanted then we have every chance.

Did I say that? I'm sure they are working hard, but it's evident the squad needs upgrading in certain areas and Ange would've wanted the attacking players he said we needed last season in for pre-season and as we are flying to the far east this week, we currently have no one in for those positions, so we need to pull out fingers out and actually get him the players he needs.

I mean you did use the phrase 'pissing about' which kind of implies not working hard doesn't it ?!

Has anyone pointed out that Neto is the portuguese word for grandson?

So we kinda keep the ongoing theme of having our forwards named (something)son

(Yeah, its a slow Sunday over here)

Why can't we try and buy the best, most coveted players in the world?!

Agree. I loved it when we got linked to top quality players but didn't buy them. It was great.

I don't think it's that so much, more that your post came across as a typical match thread tantrum. 😁
