I don’t believe our negotiations team are stupid people. Far from it in fact . We’ve dealt with Mendes before and know what a **** he can be. Maybe we were using this as some sort of smokescreen to keep who we were really interested in. Maybe someone at Olympics? Strange how Neto to Chelsea came out as Olympic football was finishing.

I agree with you, I’d absolutely love him here and you never know, as you say maybe we have been waiting on the olympics, we have been linked to both Doué and Baena in the past so maybe we still like them, or others who participated.

Realistically tho I just can’t help but feel we put the majority of our eggs in the Eze and Neto baskets and whilst we may have other back up options we are again now going to try and get CP to come down in their price for Eze. I don’t see it working out tho. Idk, I’m finding it very hard to convince myself that we come out of our current predicament smelling of roses.
