Really are crying out for a player with his profile. Even watching today. never felt there was anyone out there that Bayern would really be worried about and it almost bogs us down at times as there's no real trump card to unsettle/catch the opposition by surprise.. Definitely need to address it this window even more so as Son's legs are going.

Yep we badly need more threat from wide.

It’s so frustrating as we really could do with 2 of his type of quality and profile tbh and the season starts this coming Friday and we haven’t signed one and a big part of our budget was used on an 18yr old CM & a ST.

It is depressing isn’t it. We are so poor out wide. Such a huge blow missing out on Neto.

Need someone with the balls to take players on. Just having someone that can go inside or down the line and that can beat someone with pure skill.

Werner looked way off it today and Johnson was also pretty anonymous.
Werner is a Johnson playing off the left. Offers nothing much imo.

Since 20/21 he has missed 102 games. That's a lot. He's a very good player. But with Ange's style of football, I think he would continue to be injured a lot. So I don't really care that we didn't sign him. But we could really use a player with the same skill set.

I was never all in on the Neto train because of his injuries, I also doutbed he'd come to us if there were other offers. We still need a winger though and a top class one at that.

With Kulusevski and Bergval we're probably ok down the middle. (Still take Eze in a heartbeat though)

I'd rather we get someone who can comfortably play on both wings. But there's just not that many options (that'll actually improve us).

Someone who can take on a man is vital though, not just get a yard but attack the full backs and carry the ball up the pitch at pace.

I just can't think of that many, I liked Saint-Maximin who went to Saudi, someone like that would be my preference.

Very likely an insane idea, but I wonder about the availability of Noni Madueke now? Really came in to form at the end of the season and is club-trained to boot 👀

One issue is his mindset though as all the penalty issues from last year don't scream 'Ange player'

Prob madness as I said, but he's certainly a better club-trained option than Edwards.
Only just seen this post and had been thinking about him myself for all the reasons you mention - right winger, club trained, at best 2nd choice for his club now if Neto signs (3rd choice if they continue playing Palmer on the right).

However, i didn't like how he left us originally and i didn't like how he never once made any mention of his time with us in a (long) BBC Sport interview after he signed for Chelsea. Add in the penalty stuff and there is definitely a bit too much arrogance there and i doubt he passes the Ange test BUT in this crazy world of football, especially where Chelsea seem to have a revolving door policy, stranger things have happened.

How about Antony Elanga very rapid only 22 a much better option than Werner on the left and could cover Johnson on the right

It'll do your head in trying to come up with names but If you think about it logically, there are what, 3 or 4 senior wingers per club roughly, probably 3 or 4 more in their academies, 18-20 clubs in each league, so just in the 5 top European leagues plus a few of the more likely ones like the Pro league and out in South America, that's probably close to a thousand wingers. ONE THOUSAND.

There has to be at least one that a group of highly paid data analysts and scouts can identify as being potentially useful to us !!!

Maybe they have identified and even approached some.

Maybe you're just being kept out of the loop

Like him as a player….hadn’t realised he had such a bad injury record. Personally think it was a bit too high risk

I’d love for us to see if we could revive the Doue deal, any money we had earmarked for Eze should go towards him. Eze is a great player but a wing forward is more important imo.
