Not even gonna engage on this. You clearly want to blame the club/Levy so you can have that all you like. I choose to believe the more likely scenario in that Jorge Mendes, the serial scum bag that he is, made sure his player went where HE wanted to go so that he profited from it the most.
Okay then, don’t engage. But then engage.
we know what a scum bag he is, and he’s done us before many times. Why is this news?
why did we spend how ever many weeks talking etc. knowing what he’s like.

I’ll blame the club when they do idiotic things, as is my right as is yours to defend them.
We have differing opinions - but we’ve been here many a time before, it’s the same pretty much most windows.

Suspected he was maybe on the list of other clubs but maybe more of a second choice if they cant get their priority target (was noise Chelsea were trying for Nico Williams) so hence his entourage dragging things out waiting for a call from a bigger fish.

Can't say I'm particularly surprised to be honest.

The club needs to learn to not work with Mendes! Glad it's happened now, rather than at the end of the window.
I'm sure they do.

But this was supposedly Ange's primary target.

Do you say "Sorry Ange mate but we don't deal with that agent"

At least now even Ange has had first hand experience of how slimey that prick is.

Also, long term target my arse. Chelsea are famous for trying to hoard all of the talent and signing players to stop them joining rivals. They already have Palmer in that position, it's pure greed as usual and if Neto goes there by choice then he's a moron.

Hope to god this ridiculous spending is the death of Chelsea.
FFP is not worth the paper it's printed on - never has been either. Only Levy clings on to the hope - and that only because he wants to screw over selling clubs at leisure...

If the club ponies up every transfer fee on whatever the selling clubs terms were we'd be in the shit! If Chelsea want to do that thats up to them, I'd rather my club negotiated. And if Neto would rather go to that cluster fuck, he clearly doesn't pass Ange's character test anyway. There are other players, let's not shit the bed and demand Danny's head on a stick just yet! 😂

So which squad is he playing for? The PL, FA Cup, League cup or European squad? At this stage they have a team for each. Only a huge points deduction will sate my distaste for these clowns.

Absolutely delighted.... (y)

Unlike most here, Neto not my choice given
a) Injury record
b) Only scored 5 goals maxium in a PL season with assists stat padded from corners

Absolutely terrifying player on counter attack, WHEN he is fit.

For 60m outlay, there are numerous better reliable choices out there.

Ofcourse, Ange may have wanted him. So ,it would be disappointing for few here.

Chiesa - I would still settle for a Loan + option deal. Atleast he has record of scoring goals and last season played more minutes than previous two - so theres a good amount of proof he is playing more & more

I am probably the minority but I personally do not like Neto that much, but we better get a good RW before the season starts though

I don't understand why people are blaming the club for this?
It's Mendes and Chelsea FFS.
Probably an 8 year deal in ridiculous wages with 20% agent fees.

We may have wanted him but you can't always get what you want, especially in today's greed fuelled game.

On to the next one.

Have we had any interest in Gordon. Liverpool still considering. Very quick, beats a man, scores and is english
Can't see it. Looking at £70m-£80m to prise him away and think he has had his turned with the interest from his boyhood club and if he ends up anywhere it'll be Liverpool imo.
