Juventus are still a bigger club than us. Plus moving to a new league and country is a big change.

Juve are huge agreed but if youre being whored to clubs then the penny should drop... if he doesnt come to us there are two clubs who could get him in - Bayern and PSG and as far as im concerned PSG would be a shit move and Bayern whilst huge just doesnt seem to fit

But hey ho

I honestly would be happy if we just signed Dybala and no one else. He's that good. I've become so invested that this is going to happen it's going to be devastating if it doesn't. :notworthy: I have full Tanguy vibes about this deal's progression.

Putting it into perspective, it's hard to complain much about a spurs transfer window with Tanguy Ndombele and Paulo Dybala signed up...

Di Marzio says "image rights" are the biggest issue

https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/the...nham-deal-image-rights-issue-has-to-be-solved

From the article:

"The company which owns Dybala's image rights has advised Tottenham (there have been contacts yesterday) that they couldn't close a deal without Juventus involved in the process, or rather that they couldn't get Paulo's image rights without them. Should Tottenham find an agreement on salary and commissions with Dybala's agent, they still should have to find another agreement with this company (image star) that belongs to his former agent, Pierpaolo Triulzi."

sounds like the issue isn't wages so much as all the other leaches that are involved - but i find it hard to believe this is the first time thas has been broached...

Says we should still find an agreement so fingers crossed.

Dybala would be a statement signing however I don't see us completing this one because they're too many variable surrounding his image rights third party ownership and wages....it is far too tangled for us to complete imo.

I read it as ‘should we..’ rather than ‘we should’. Still hopeful though. I can’t see wages being a problem, but it seems to rely on these image rights. Let’s hope his former agent isn’t a disgruntled former agent looking to throw a spanner in any works.

strangely enough i always think we have more chance at these 'stellar' signings than the run of the mill transfers that we should normally be making. the difference now is that the club is at a level that matches the player we're after.

reckon this will happen.

So how do Image Star currently get remunerated for the image rights whilst he’s at Juve? Wouldn’t there be an agreement or structure in place already that we could work from? Or is it purely about a cut of the transfer fee everytime?

The funny thing is this deal should make Levy more excited than the others all combined.

Imagine how much Dybala could generate for Spurs off field?

This is gonna be a tense last 24 hours or so. Really hoping we’ll get this over the line. A bit of positive noise tonight would be encouraging ?

It's irrational but if I took a day of annual leave for tomorrow and we don't sign Dybala, I'm genuinely going to be mad

I also have annual leave for tomorrow but on leave for the whole week so im not as sad as you but i will be glued to the tv and Vickie Gomersall who is my uber guilty pleasure.

I'm a happy clapper but I just cannot see this happening. It seems far to complex not just image rights but also wages.

Are the image rights really an issue? As long as it doesn't breach PL rules, isn't it something that can be done post him signing?

The FA and PL have quite strict rules on the handling of “image rights” and any move would have to satisfy those. I believe that he does not own his image rights either which probably makes things more complicated.
