Good enough for me. No news is good news, usually when we are leaked to a player and its BS at least one ITK comes out and squashes it. This is day 2 and still no one saying this isn't a runner.

JJ confirmed our interest - with the caveat, whether we can get him is another matter...
Or something along those lines.

We made the biggest profit in world football last year: https://www.ft.com/content/bec65898-56ca-11e9-a3db-1fe89bedc16e

And that was before the Nike deal, making the CL final, new stadium gate receipts, the new AIA deal, and presumably a massive stadium sponsor and sleeve sponsor combo. I know we’re going to have to divert some of that to stadium, but this just isn’t going to be an Emirates situation, clubs are making so much more money than when Arsenal opened their stadium.

We need to see the club for what we’re becoming: world class facilities, top ten club in world revenue, Champions League finalist, champions league mainstay, and world class manager and players. We’re still not even close to our full earning potential yet.

Tottenham have long been a sleeping giant and we’re waking up. Levy has built our infrastructure and business side magnificently and he finally lucked into a manager in Pochettino to sort out the footballing side. We’re just beginning to scratch our revenue potential. Being able to sign players like Dybala, NDombele, and Lo Celso will come with what the club has methodically built, especially if we continue to make and progress in the CL. It’s a whole new era.

Fed up with people posting stupid comments about Dele. The guy is a diamond. He had no pre-season last year, picked up a lot of injuries, and played out of position. The whole squad struggled last year because of the injuries, pre-season, lack of rotation. What is wrong with some of you?

It is all about opinions, no opinion can really be wrong, two people can see the same event and have differing views.
As Admin surely you want opinions and friendly banter, kind of what keeps the site alive, no !

Yeah and the fact he took it down only adds a little to the possibility it is going on to some degree.

Can I quickly make a very unpopular opinion and say I think I'd prefer us to spend around £80-90m bringing in two top fullbacks...
Everything points to us not creating width with fullbacks this year. Look at Pep's first season with Man City. Their fullbacks did not typically advance as high as they do for his side now. They would tuck in and offer an option to the midfielders and one of the 4 behind that striker that would drift wide. We could do similar with the players we have now (and are seemingly targeting), as we would rely on our creators to get wide instead of the fullbacks, who would remain more defensive. This lines up with Trippier and Rose (at least open to) leaving, as they are two of our more attacking options in the FB positions.

It sounds like Savic could be on the move to Utd. I wonder if Juve would cash in on Dybala to make money available for Pogba. We get Dybala and Madrid get Eriksen. Optimistic much.

The main difference is Pep often has his wide players really hug the touchline to create space in the middle for the rest of the players and cause overloads.

Poch on the other hand wants our wide players to play as a part of a fairly narrow front 2. If Son and/or Lucas aren't going wide then the only width we have is provided by the fullbacks who quite simply aren't good enough for such a crucial role in the system.

That argument is moot if we change formation and tactics, which has been suggested throughout the summer.

I honestly hope you're right, but everything I've seen in pre-season suggests that the "new" formation is a tweaked version of the diamond we saw last season. The main difference being it's a little more of a 4-3-1-2 with 3 proper CMs and the no. 10 staying a little higher up the pitch.

I suppose there's a chance we're waiting for some more players to return so we can try a new system with 3 at the back, but if Poch was going to implement some other brand new system why wouldn't we be playing it already?

For me Dybala makes absolute sense because, and I know it’s not a popular opinion here, Alli is easily the most upgradable player in our attacking line up.

I said it about Dier as CM 12 months ago and was shouted down by some but it’s become more obvious to others now.

A forward line of Son Kane Dybala would be Poch’s dream line up. Then you have Eriksen and GLC alternating for that other role.

For me Alli is the weak link and has been for 12 months now. I just don’t think his all round game fits into the attack of an elite side.

Put it this way, could you see Son or Kane playing for Real Madrid or City or Barca? Yes I could. Could you see Alli though? Not a chance.

That’s not to write Alli off, and if he comes back into form he’s a talent, but I struggle to see how he really fits into a slick dynamic attack which pretty much all elite sides now field.

Going into this season he’s sticks out like a sore thumb as the one we could easily upgrade on with a top talent like Dybala, and I’m sure that is Poch’s dream too.

Alli's form has dipped this past season, but there is nothing to suggest that won't change. He, like Kane, needs competition for their place. Simple as.
