Klopp seemed fairly adamant this week that there’d be no big signings. I guess you never know for sure, but they have Mane Salah and Firminio and it’s pretty set as their front three.

Firminio is a good player no doubt but it’s not impossible to improve on him imo, bit like us saying we don’t need him because we have son or Ali

Their front 3 has mythical status across Liverpool though, they genuinely think Kane wouldn't replace Firmino because 'Bobby links it all together' or some bollocks.

To make this signing would be sensational for us for many reasons. To sign a genuine, bonefide goalscorer would electrify our squad. It would ease the pressure on Kane while also giving him genuine competition. It would put wind in all our sails. It would be a boost for our young strikers, like the excellent Parrott, because another person to learn from. We have been crying out for another regular guarenteed 20+ goals a season scorer - Paulo could be him! Cross everything.

It is worth noting that Spurs enquiring about Dybala was actually first broken by Italian based Journalist yesterday morning. So whilst you could say that Ally and Dan KP were briefed, you can't say the same about Tuttosport.

Yes, finally! Ten credits Palmreading is never wrong...

We made the biggest profit in world football last year: https://www.ft.com/content/bec65898-56ca-11e9-a3db-1fe89bedc16e

And that was before the Nike deal, making the CL final, new stadium gate receipts, the new AIA deal, and presumably a massive stadium sponsor and sleeve sponsor combo. I know we’re going to have to divert some of that to stadium, but this just isn’t going to be an Emirates situation, clubs are making so much more money than when Arsenal opened their stadium.

We need to see the club for what we’re becoming: world class facilities, top ten club in world revenue, Champions League finalist, champions league mainstay, and world class manager and players. We’re still not even close to our full earning potential yet.

Tottenham have long been a sleeping giant and we’re waking up. Levy has built our infrastructure and business side magnificently and he finally lucked into a manager in Pochettino to sort out the footballing side. We’re just beginning to scratch our revenue potential. Being able to sign players like Dybala, NDombele, and Lo Celso will come with what the club has methodically built, especially if we continue to make and progress in the CL. It’s a whole new era.

You’ve got to think that the argie connection with Poch and the players would help us massively.

And who else could be in for him? Rule out the top Spanish two.

Chelsea can’t sign. City are stacked and Liverpool won’t be making any major signings this summer. He wouldn’t go to Arsenal and the europa league, plus they don’t have the funds either. (Forgot United, but would he rather play under OGS than Poch?!)

PSG and Bayern would probably go for him. But we get further than PSG do in the CL and can argue we are just as likely to win it plus we play in a far better league.

Do Bayern ever spend £80 million on players? Not so sure.

We’ve got as good a chance as any.

All major teams seek improvement each year. Liverpool fell short last year - I'm pretty sure Klopp will seek options and rotation for the top 3. Dybala would fit that system perfectly.

Hope I'm very wrong

If we are to get this deal done I think it's going to have to be done and dusted rather quickly! Don't want to alert another team and they end up gazumping us.

To be honest, I think we could be as discreet as we like or move quickly and it'd still get hijacked by another club. Why? Because agents will have been asked to keep others updated, they'll contact other clubs themselves to try get better deals or another long time admirer will be waiting after we softened them up.

Great post, and I agree with 99.99999% of it, the only exception is that I don't think DL "lucked" into Pochettino. I can't imagine that someone like Levi, or any other top Chairman/Owner, or other exec in football, doesn't have their finger on the pulse of the game. It is, after all, their bread and butter, their playground, and it is in their very best interests to know what's going on, specifically on the business side, and who the potential rising stars are in the coaching world because a top coach will help make the club successful. I beleive, rightly or wrongly, that DL knew/heard of Poch even when he was at Espanyol, if for no other reason than our own Argentinian connection with Ossie and Ricky. I think he kept an eye on Poch, and other up and coming coaches, and the payoff came when Southampton took a chance on him and DL could see first-hand how he measured up to the PL. I think the only fortuitous part was when the chairman (can't remember his name) resigned and Poch said he wouldn't stay at the club and work for the new guy and was willing to look for a new project.
Just my onions.

Loved your earlier post as well, spot on (y)

It is an exciting one.
From all accounts we have been interested in a forward player for a while (both Pulisic and Werner in January). With both Jansenn and Llorente leaving (likely) it looks like we are keen to bring someone in, I just didn’t expect a player of this quality.
There is no way we would leak this news without there being interest from both player and club in getting a deal done.
It could be a deadline day special...

Juve were aggressively shopping Joao Cancelo to City and United earlier this summer. And he didn’t have a terrible season for them. Certainly didn’t light the world on fire from the fullback position. But they didn’t bite. Interesting in light of Hertyid’s ITK on Juve needing to sell. I thought they were just trying to stockpile cash for a Pogba bid bit but they might well be financially overextended. There is other dead weight they haven’t been able to sell in the squad, too (like Higuain Khedira...and frankly even Matuidi). If they sell one or two of those three, it might ease financial pressure. Possibly something to watch for in assessing the likelihood of a deal for Dybala.
