When it comes to our games, I normally find myself looking at others teams forums for the match threads, to see what they think about the game and their opinions.

Very rarely do you come across another teams forum, where the opinions are actually intelligible opinions based on footballing, with all venting aside.

They are normally filled with hate, anger etc etc

But I'd like to bring you to the attention of a very decent thread on the Liverpool forum here, about us:

It's actually pleasant reading, so thought I'd share.

Some really good posts about our club in there, fair play to those fans.

Sky Commentator said summat like "Bale is almost predictable in the way he plays, he gets the ball, gets it out of his feet, runs, beats the opposition, gets the ball in the box, creates a chance" in the Bremen match.

It's true, it wasn't meant as a criticism, it was high praise indeed that Bale is so good at what he does, that it typifies his game.

Yeah someone calls us a 2 man team in the thread dedicated to us too, fucking well rich from them. Difference is we have had 2 outstanding players this season surrounded by a group of very good/capable of being outstanding players, whereas they have 2 exceptional players in their entire squad surrounded by dross and have gotten by on that for years.

I do not worry about The Scousers.....they were a decent team, once upon a time......but so were we (1960-1985). I am still concerned...every game we play, that the 'old 1986-1999' THFC will rear it's ugly head...once again....but my fears are 'fewer and far between'...as each day passes. Pool, on the other hand are FAR from safe, even if their EPL status is safe...enough. I dare not predict what might happen at WHL, on Sunday.....for obvious reasons....but I have more to be positive about than just HOPE, alone:clap:.....COYS!

Fans always pick and choose what they want to believe about opposition clubs, completely ignoring what they don't want to know.

Prime example there, they speak about how much we paid for Bale, 5m with add ons, someone suggests closer to 10m in all then someone clarifies that we paid one sum to wipe out the add ons when Southampton were in the shit.

A few posts later someone chirps up again saying that it will be 10m with all the add ons that will have kicked in by now.

Also they conveniently ignore that we got 4th without VDV at all and Bale not playing for much of the season, with Modric, Lennon, Defoe, Kranjcar and Pav all having excellent runs of form at one stage or another. Yet we are no more than a 2 man team apparently.

Having said that I guess that I am guilty of just believing what I want to when it comes to other clubs too.

Still working my way through the thread. Of course there are comments I think are daft, particularly regarding Gomes and BAE - but I agree it's generally quite well balanced and a good read. Nice one Shanks. :up:

Your average football fan is your average football fan, you could start a similar thread about any club on here and the spread of responses would be similar to that one, likewise most other club forums(except for a few obvious exceptions!)
The only difference between us and them is we're right!:smile::smile:

I live in Liverpool, family, mates and colleagues are reds.

This is the quietest I've ever known them prior to a game between us.
