I don't have a problem with the path the club is taking, I just wish they were more open and informative about it as I think it could help dampen expectations to a more realistic level amongst some of the fanbase.

I see people turning their nose up at Rashford in another thread with some saying we shouldn't be taking players on their way down, do these people not realise that top players on their way up are not going to come to Tottenham? We are just not at the required level to compete for these players.

Kane (Homegrown) Modric (Punt from a foreign league) Bale (Youngster punt) etc, in my opinion 3 truly World class players that have passed through our club, none were purchased.

Even the great Ferguson at Man utd greatest years were produced by homegrown talents.
I'm not sure Modric was a punt. He was an audacious talent who had already looked good against Arsenal in the Champions League. A lot of teams were looking at him. He was a fairly big signing at the time.
I get your point though. We don't generally buy big and when we have in tends to be a bit of a disaster - Rebrov, Soldado, Ndombele, Lo Celso

he was a massive punt, the prem is so fast and aggressiv, modric is very small

After watching the interview he did, I felt was alluding to our approach being different to Newcastle’s and that he was under pressure and Ange not so much

I never said that, I just referenced the responses to it.

I mean I don't think we can ever get a Oshimen or Williams
We don't need to. You take the best players from the teams below you, but in order to do that you need to pay above what would be considered by our board as market value for them.

Hypothetically our club get offered Rashford at a cut down fee but we like Semenya? It would no doubt be the Sadio Mane thing all over again if we went for Rashford, where we'd have turned our nose up at the asking price/wages of Semenya despite him being the best current option. We'd go for Rashford because we'd have gotten a potential bargain and that's how we pretty much have always done business under Enic with one or two exceptions.

He's a "Content creator" now, says so - I guess that removes the need for any sort of integrity because it's not facts, news or anything, it's "content"

That's just what Google's bullshit has labelled him, he's the Athletic's main overall football correspondent which makes him the New York Times' one as well. He's a journalist.

But then it would be harder to charge the highest prices to see a match in the premier league
