Main idea here is that this season seems to be marking a real sea change re the staus quo of the traditional top 3, and then whoever struggles to get 4th. Really, the PL title could go in any one of about 5 directions...including N17! Yep, I said it, doesn’t mean I think it’ll definitely happen, but it’s a real possibility. Thank God! About time the league became more open for everyone!
For the first time in yonks, it wouldn’t surprise me if we get 3 points against any of Utd, City, Chavs, Arse, ‘Pool...home or away (Arse away is obviously gone), but by the same token, the opposite wouldn’t surprise me either! Now, that is a great thing. We ain’t seen that kind of democracy for years. That’s why I hate the Chavs and City models more than anything! They’ve done more, through a pipeline of unlimited money, to stop the development of THFC than anything outside of our own control.
Anyway, back to this season, United, new coach, look weak defensively, the whole Rooney being unsettled thing is destabilizing them too; City, new coach, confusing line-up, they’ll drop quite a few points until they get their shape and their squad becomes a positive factor for them later in the season.
Chavs - same as City, plus Mourinho’s been showing signs of vulnerability the last couple of seasons; there’s a hell of a lot of pressure and expectation on him - huge squad, but too many moving parts there. Couple more results like they had against Everton...and we’ll see more cracks.
The Dippers - look good, I mean really good! Playing the best football at the moment in the whole of the league. Moses addition was key for them. Got a great coach, got belief, but really thin squad! They will pay for that later in the season I’m sure.
Arse - they’ll be there somewhere - and they look good, Ozil obviously helps, but thin defensively.
Perspective right now, is our toughest games are Chavs and Dippers away...yet, we could easily win or draw at either venue! And those are the toughest I see right now.
Us! Well, we’re the most unknown quantity to analyze; so, so many new signings, players returning from long-term injuries. Where are we? In a real good place I’d say. With all the upheaval, we’ve given up 1 goal in 4 games! 3 victories, and that loss against the Arse at their ground...never seen Wenger so relieved! He knew it...no real playmaker in our side, no Eriksen, Lamela with a jet-lagged cameo, and we still nearly got a result!
We are looking good. I was watching how players were shifting positions in that Norwich game, they’re still learning, but it was a joy to see, especially given the lack of familiarity within the team. Walker was moving into an attacking central position more than I’ve ever seen him, and Dembele, Paulie and even Eriksen were covering the right back place at times. We’re the biggest work in progress in the whole league, ‘Pool second, but defensively and squad-wise, we’re far stronger than they are and we’re just starting to use our creative pieces, Eriksen and Lamela. Most importantly, this season, we have a great f---ing squad, and a coach who’s got the faith of his players and got faith in his own vision.
Lastly COYFS!!!

Suggest you put this in the race for the title thread. Much similar discussion there

How many times does this need to be explained lol.... they have a much bigger fan base, they have lots of delusional fans putting money down on them to win the League...the bookies have to offset this by covering themselves. Its not because anybody at William Hill thinks they actually have a better chance!!!!!
