Yes that would work to give others a chance and if you get a ticket in a ballot you can only apply once more during a season or something like that.

Accidentally joined the queue at 8.55, says I'll be logged in at 9.25 so far too early to get tickets but of course I can't get out of the queue until then. Will be too late when I get back in I suppose.

The way to get out the queue is go to settings in your browser and "clear browsing data" , on Chrome for example you can just choose to clear the last hour which is much quicker than choosing all time . This willl remove the cookie that remembers that you are in the queue or just use another browser.

What a shower of shit this system is. I got a ticket in the basket and it timed out waiting for the payment to be processed. Went back in and got another ticket, after putting in the payment confirmation code it kicked me out of the page and back to 30000 in the queue in front of me.

I got in an hour before the sale time, queue paused about 16k odd in line and got in about 10:38, got the ticket for Brentford and there were a fair number available for that one. I used the find seats for me as that always works best.
It is silly they still put one queue for 3 games though. The NLD one is going to be more in demand. Why can't they do a system where you log in and can only join one queue for one of the three games at one time? That would be the fairest way to do it so you can't join on multiple devices and can't stay in the system and get tickets to other games ahead of people still in the queue.

Logged on pretty much the exact same time as you just over 16k in the queue. Wanted a pair for both brentford and everton but the latter i could only get offered c£100-120 per ticket for 1882 at the back of the top tier. Scandalous pricing for those seats so refused to take those on principle.
Got the brentford x2 north stand, payment screen didnt complete and basket emptied but tickets are in the accounts so no idea at this point, have emailed customer service just to be sure.
Dont really understand the benefit of a three at a time system, i guess it gets the club a bit more cash in the bank a few weeks early vs doing them one by one.
