I watched a lot of SPL in those days - Durie played far more than all of those names bar McCoist and Hately, and accumulated more appearances and goals than Laudrup too. Lovenkrands only joined around 5 months before Durie left for Hearts.

He got plenty of games during McCoist’s numerous times out injured, then even more so when Hateley left. He was often paired with Laudrup up front or, alternatively, with Rod Wallace and Laudrup given license to roam wherever he pleased.

He won a tonne of medals too. Definitely the most successful period of his career.
Not denying he won medals and played games. He was a good player but rarely 1st choice.

This is the striker I'm hoping we're waiting on....they play in Europa League also this week, right? Extra pressure applied I'd imagine depending how that result goes (our game too! ?).

I notice he started and played 80 odd minutes as Celtic won in the last minutes.

Hopefully we revisit this one. Talk of Celtic open to offers as he won’t commit long term. This one makes sense to me, class player, massive potential and long term signing and good investment for Levy.

Being linked again on Twitter. Dragon has constantly mentioned him and just wondering if there is a potential deal to be had with Sessegnon going up there on loan and us doing some sort of deal with PSG for Dele to help get round the sell on clause they have with Edouard.

I’m not paying attention to Prem Transfer Man and other nonsense twitter ITKs. But I’ve said in the Milik thread earlier today I just have a gut feeling it’s him.

Ally Gold described the striker deal as delicate, and the addition of Sess/Dele’s loans alongside his fee would be the definition of delicate.

Also, clearly other clubs are sniffing around so it would make sense as to why Ally and ITK are keeping the name quiet.

Anyway probs nothing in it, just a potential scenario that could make sense.

We are gonna suffer more without a second CF than a CB. If Skriniar deal doesn't look like happening, I say, direct the funds to Edouard. PSG has a sell on clause. Celtic wants Sessegnon. PSG wants Dele. We want Edouard.

This is the best scenario for a "creative deal"

Got this one majorly wrong. Come on down Carlos!

Do like the look of Edouard however think the loan for Vinicius is the best option in this window against the current backdrop and uncertainty. Kane is going to be the main man and spending £35-40m on someone who although will get game time, will primarily be seen as backup/an alternative by Mourinho, doesn't quite make sense when we have other areas to address in the team to.

I thought Edouard could play anywhere across the front three, so he could get a decent amount of playing time, compared to Milik for example.
Not too sure about Vinicius and if he offers that versatility.

Reckon we stopped worrying about that when we signed yet another winger, and a potentially world-class one at that. What we desperately need is somebody who can play when Kane doesn’t.

That's true, but for potential signings they might feel they have more chance to play if it's not just in place of Kane. It's not just what the club wants, but how the incoming player feels, which is why we are in the situation we are in now.
