Was told the day before deadline day that us and United were in talks for him, posted in the ITK deadline day thread that he's available, could he do a job etc, I got laughed at so bad, smh. I bet most would take him now

I don't blame people for laughing to be fair but I'll say it again in that we should have been as desperate as United were to bring a striker in. Us not making CL is potentially on our inability to secure a striker, I just still can't believe we never managed to.

Striker scoring goals, who would have thought, another embarrassment for Levy & the board in a whole season of calamities

Let's not forget though he is on Solbakken's books so of course his dodgy mate OGS was going to take him

Since the end of Jan window Ighalo has scored 2 in the league cup and none in the Premier.

Son has scored 3 Prem goals and Bergjwin has scored 2 prem goals.

Don’t think it’s the jan window that hurt us.

Well he has played 29 mins on PL, would have played more for us. He has started one in Europa League scoring one and started one in FA Cup scoring two.

Three goals already and has barely played.

I think we can all agree strikers are important.

when i heard that he went to united on deadline day i was disappointed we didnt get him. preferred Giroud, but once that ship sailed Ighalo would have been nice to have.

The most important piece for me is having one in allows your other players to play in their preferred position. Not having a striker doesn't just leave us short upfront, but it means we have to play Lucas or Dele out of position so we are 2 players down. Then it also means we can't rotate our wide players so we run them into the ground and have to replace them with even worse players so we are nearly 3 players down!

You guys laughed at me for suggesting him in the January with Rondon :cautious: Would have been great for us , but considering how much he loves United even if we were in for him he’d have picked them

Ighalo...really. If Son hadn't been injured this thread would never have been commented in again. He looks good now because any striker would have been good, but in reality what's he actually done. 3 goals against lower level opposition. Amazing. Ighalo...jokers.
