I used to know Paul Morgan, he is 2yrs younger than me. He grew up on the estate across the road from mine in Lytchett Way, I lived in Sherborne Ave. Me and my mate's used to play football with him occasionally and couldn't believe he was at Spurs, a few of us were definitely better than him in our early teens! Apparently there was a PE teacher at Albany School, where he attended, who was always in the ear of the Spurs scouts and somehow managed to get him in the Spurs youth set up along with another kid, Richard Cook. There was another kid also, who lived next door to me, Steve Smart, the same PE teacher got him into Spurs too, I think he ended up at Woking then disappeared from the game. My conclusion was ' Bollocks! I went to the wrong school!!':D
Carefull what you wish for that same teacher has had to go to court accused of, hmm how can I put this lets just say abusing his position.
I don't know if he got done for it though.
There was a number of boys making the same accusation I believe.

I remember Paul Moran and Andy Gray. I believe Gray was injured for a long time, but not 100% sure. I had the team photo poster that season with him in it.

Very few people seem to remember Andy Turner. Broke through just after Barmby, looked very promising, then faded away like a Back to the Future photograph.

There are several players from the 2000 to 2002 era that I have no idea about, as I was way too busy partying to watch much football. Fortunately it doesn't sound like there was much football to watch from us back then.

For some reason Ive got him scoring for us at the Baseball Ground against Derby seared into my memory. I can remember watching the end of the game at a friends house when I would have been about 11. I think he may have scored on his debut but we lost or he scored the winner.

Edit: just found this "highlight" of him but playing for Newcastle

Mitchell Thomas. Saw him bring down a high ball with his knee once, forever coining the phrase 'doing a Mitch' in the playground.

Claesen was actually a cracking little player, but Pleat only played one up top while he was here, and Clive Allen was banging them in so Claesen never got much of a chance. Thought he'd only played about a dozen games for us, so those 18 goals do come as a surprise!)

He scored the winner against Chelsea in my first ever visit to White Hart Lane so I will always have a place in my heart for him.

Id love to see the goal but I doubt it is available.

I remember Andy Gray for that Chelsea ‘classic’ which gets wheeled out on Sky when we lost 3-2 or 4-3 I think in 1993 and he missed a pen. He also played in my first ever game at WHL in 1991-92 when we lost 5-2 to Villa after being 2-0 up.

I was thinking the other week that there was a fifth player we signed at the time of Davies, Etherington, Gardner and Ginger Pele. Anyone know who it was?

Edit: Maybe this guy? Signed from Hamlet. Classic.

I always loved a bit of Ruel Fox.

Mainly because when I was a kid I had the purple Hewlett Packard away kit, and I wanted a name and number on the back.

However due to my limited funds, all I could afford was three letters and one number.

Hence to this day I am the proud owner of a purple Spurs shirt with 'FOX 7' on the back.

God he was shit.

I saw him once in his Spurs tracksuit boarding a train to East Anglia at Liverpool Street. He was serving a driving ban after being convicted of drink driving.

7 pages and no mention of Tramezzani. I always remember Pleat saying in his programme notes one game that his presence at the club was "somewhat of an embarrassment".

Tramezzani, not Pleat. I think.

Was waiting for him to come up - I was somehow under the misapprehension that he was going to end up good...
We have that hope for most players. Apart from the really odd signings like Sissoko where it just seems like resignation from the start. I still think the pre-signing excitement of Postiga stayed with him after he left.

Paul Moran was nicknamed 'SPARROW' by the team as he was so scrawny.

Broke into the team same sort of time as Howells but his career was in ruins a couple of years later as he joined West Ham.
