We are saddened to hear of the passing of our former midfielder Garry Brooke.

A two-time FA Cup winner and part of our UEFA Cup-winning squad in the early-1980s, Garry passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 64 following a lengthy battle with illness.

Such a shame, he was super sub for us, always looked bright, determined and lively when he came on. Remember him with a smile singing Ossies dream on TOTP.
Saw him occasionally in Chelmsford, when he was training at schools.
God Bless you Garry.

Fond memories of Garry winning some pots for us when I was a kid.

Saved us against Hull in the cup. Ball of energy. Same age as me. RIP Garry.

I didn’t know about the car accident! How did I not know about the car accident?!

Loved him; loved that side. Probably the best time to be a Spurs fan in my supporting life time. (I’m just slightly too old to really remember the Glory Game team.)

Lovely bloke used to be my football coach when I was in primary school. Very humble and patient with the children. Didn’t even realise he was a spurs player then despite me playing in my spurs kit. Put me back in midfield when he saw that I couldn’t score! RIP

Played against him a couple of times when he played for the spurs legends. Even when he was older he was still mustard. RIP.

I knew Garry from 1965, we lived a couple of streets away from each other and used to play football together before we even started school. He was a genuinely nice guy, who was liked by everyone at school. The only downside, was he was a fan of that lot down the road until he was 10. He used to go to Highbury and train with the school boys on a Thursday night, but his mum and dad were not happy with him coming home on a bus at night from Highbury to Walthamstow, his dad did not drive. Spurs became awere of this, so Peter Shreeves, who was a black cab driver at the time and part time school boys coach with Spurs used to pick him up and drop him home after training with Spurs in the gym in the evenings. And yes for a small lad he did have one hell of a shot on him and it bloody hurt when you got in the way.
He will be sadly missed.

His brother Colin was a mate of a mate. He was definitely a West Ham fan. That area of London is positioned so you can support so many different teams! I met Garry just the once when he was already well known to us Spurs fans and he was a nice guy. His passing away at a similar age to me makes me feel old. RIP Garry Brooke, thanks for the memories ❤️
