The thing is with us is all opponents have to work on in training is keeping their shape. If they can do that and maybe limit us to one goal it’s enough to win them the game. You don’t even need much coaching to open us up, it’s obvious where the spaces are to drive at us.

As for as the goal conceded , same old Ange Spurs...

Give the ball away near opponent box, but end up giving away the goal in matter of 2 passes.

One on one with the full back, let me cut inside and make things even more narrow.

Well im thinking more in terms of what Levy will do. But no improvement with Bentancur in there is a massive worry. For all the pelters our wingers are getting, Postecoglou gave his approval to sign Johnson and Werner.
Because maybe the penny will drop eventually that the personnel aren't the sole factor, but the disparate way we play that requires a very exact set of circumstances. Its how a team of our squad players can score 4 goals, but then the strongest XI can concede 3 in the space of a week. Yeah, we can put some snappy passes together every now and again, but we've looked amateur for over a year now.

We’re just so badly coached.

In possession our players are miles apart from each other which gives them no easy options and they’re often forced backwards. Out of possession, it’s so easy for teams to exploit those spaces as soon as we lose the ball and waltz through our midfield - their goal comes from Spence losing the ball in the #10 position and our only midfield cover anywhere near the ball being … Brennan Johnson.

It’s not aggressive, it’s not attractive, it’s just poor coaching. And today hasn’t been the worst we’ve played by a long shot.
No good centre midfield play / players

Bentacur not up to pace and already asking our players to slow the game down since minute 15. But he’s not running as much / fast / covering as well as he was at his peak. Nor is he consistently showing himself as an available outlet to receive the ball from the wide players.

today we need someone like Connor Gallagher

even Sarr doesn’t have his usual energy (understandably)

He’s got Spence and Johnson’s positioning wrong IMO. We’d be more dangerous with Spence out wide and Johnson tucked inside

Fair, but if we’re not going to give managers players for a defensive system or players for an offensive system you feel we might as well become comfortable in midtable which isn’t much of anything.

I just don't think Son has the legs to play this style of football that Ange wants to play. He'd look lethal in that Forest team on the counter
