Our forward players simply aren't very good. We had the opportunity to improve that in the summer and we signed Werner who's a bit of a laughing stock and Odobert, who looks like he needs a couple of years on loan. We have a mid table forward line and we're getting midtable results. The club isn't has zero ambition to win anything.
Odobert and Werner looked much more effective than Johnson and Son.

My main complaint is Ang doesn't seem to be doing anything to address how bad we are at defending setplays or attacking them. We looked absolutely clueless at both.
I think too much is made of it, that’s the first one we’ve conceded from this season. The biggest issue is the other end of the pitch - we look utterly toothless, ponderous and scared in and around the box

We have been found out since christmas.
When we are so easy to counter, no one has any problem lying deep and compact, forcing us to cross from the wings. We are of no threat from free kicks, no threat from corners, it’s just to stay compact and counter us a few times, or get some corners to score on.
Possession means nothing if we don’t score goals.
Not easy to figure out a quick fix either…

Last 10 PL games under Ange : 3 Wins, 1 draws, 6 loss

Newcastle 4-0 Tottenam - LOSS (not scored)
Tottenam 2-3 Arsenal - LOSS
Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham - LOSS (not scored)
Liverpool 4-2 Tottenham LOSS
Tottenham 2-1 Burnley WIN (relegated)
Sheffield 0 - 3 Tottenham WIN (relegated)
Tottenham 0-2 City LOSS (not scored)
Tottenham 4-0 Everton WIN (relegation candidates)
Leicester 1-1 Tottenham DRAW (relegation candidates)
Tottenham 1-0 Arsenal LOSS (not scored)

So, Either win against relegated sides....and lost convincingly against bigger teams without scoring. The only 2 games we did score when we lost, came late in game when Liverpool & Arsenal already scored 3 & 4 past us.

This is SHOCKING set of results.

Let’s be clear, Arsenal are a well drilled outfit even without some of their best players and much further into their ‘project’ than us.

But, it highlights our weaknesses for all to see and do we as a club have an appetite to want to close the gap and ultimately exceed Arsenal and compete for the title.

This transfer window showed me, we don’t
Exactly arsenal are well drilled, we are not

Are you being deliberately obtuse? I understand your point, which is why I said I agreed with it. It’s just not the important one, you may as well keep telling me 2+2 is 4. We are absolutely shit at set pieces. That is a massive coaching problem. If Vic can’t claim corners he needs coaching. If Romero keeps losing his man at corners he needs coaching. We didn’t concede 16 goals from set pieces last year because Romero doesn’t know how to mark, we did it because our collective marking and organisation is terrible. If you don’t think that’s anything to do with ange I really don’t know what to say.
You said it you had no idea what I was talking about. If Romero marks his man they don’t score. I don’t see how that can be the managers fault. 3 goals this season been Romeros fault. Not managers fault. Individual errors

Flattering to deceive once again, so naive. Starting to wonder if the manager is a bit out of his depth to be honest.

Not good enough at all but we can’t be sacking managers and changing the players all the time so it’s time to do what Arsenal did and give Ange a couple of years to get the players that he needs and make them understand how to play his system. But today I feel like 🤮
Do we really think that after 3 windows Ange hasn’t decided on what players he needs?
He knows exactly what we need.... most of the fans can see what we need.

So worrying how litle movement we have inside the box, we have noone that has the eye for a goal, no hungry palyers with good movement,

I hear this all the time but you have to ensure you only give good managers time. You would never give someone like Sherwood or Nuno time would you?
You mean like the time Arsenal gave Arteta when the majority of fans were calling for his head only a few seasons ago?

I’m sorry but that was unforgivable. They clearly wanted it more than us, tried and fought harder all over pitch. Shocking display from everyone involved

Let's not forget just how good Arsenal are - I know likely an unpopular opinion, but they are really, really good. Especially at defending. I don't think we performed too badly - yes we all know the areas we need to improve but with this performance, I back us to do well this year. We are in transition, this takes time, and we currently have on our books some of the best youngsters in the country. By no means a sure barometer of future success, but that is our approach so we must give time.

That being said - there are two clear points that need to be addressed over the coming months/transfer windows: Ange needs to swallow his pride and hire a set piece coach. Vicario cannot command his area, costing us almost a goal a game. This is untenable. We need to replace our goalkeeper with someone that provides confidence to his defence - the lack of confidence he instills on set pieces permeates the mind and therefore impacts our defence on other situations outside of corners and free kicks. I like the guy, but I truly believe that his inability to command his area, and his general frantic exuberance does nothing but cause hesitation across our backline.

I think we're at the stage where serious questions need to be asked about Ange.

Yeah, let's blame it on the latest patsy. Poch, Mourinho & Conte had prime Kane & Son and still won fuck all.

It doesn't matter who the manager is, they will always be doing their job with one hand tied behind their back.
