Not good enough to be honest. In fairness Arsenal set up well defensively (they already had the best defense in the league) with 2 banks of 4 and Havertz and Trossard closing down the passing lanes. Nevertheless with the possession we had we should do better but with Son and Johnson as our wide players we don’t get crosses in. They don’t take on the FBs and we don’t have players who overlap so having Solanke at CF is a moot point as he’s getting no service. I’m afraid to say but Son is the elephant in the room; he’s simply doesn’t fit this system.

I’ve experienced some dark days supporting this club (its been about 45 years for me), during the late 90s and early 2000s, when were were in a much worse position that we are now, but dont remember being this down on the club before.

I think it’s because in those days, even under Sugar I had hope…….but now I have no hope, while ENIC remain in charge.

Yes, and the team can and should be doing better, but those are secondary issues.

Our record in the big games is so bad. I may not have enjoyed the football under Jose or Conte but I at least felt we could win big games. We did under Poch and Redknapp as well. Losing at home to arsenal now twice under Ange, not beaten the big teams in a year. It's not looking good. Still feel for Ange as he doesn’t have big game players so has to wait for them to develop in the hope they reach that level. Although even while arsenal were building youth early under arteta we still wouldn't win 3 in a row at their place. We are back in their shadow sadly.

Yet we consistently concede the same pattern of goals…..,
We need a set piece coach for sure but we played well and Romero was at fault again through his lack of concentration and desire. There’s a case to start giving Dragusin a go because he lacks no desire whatsoever in battle to win headers like that.

It's worrying that we appear to have brought last seasons poor end to the season into the start of this. Same problems still exist and I'm struggling to see where improvement will come from at the moment.

I would get Bergvall and Gray into that midfield and drop Maddison to the bench. The slowness of our play hurts us so much.

I wouldn’t necessarily say they were very impressive. You don’t need to be impressive to beat us as seen by the Newcastle game. They had a plan and stuck to it, we didn’t make it difficult for them at all despite getting 1-1 with defenders and breaking we over and over again tried to pass it into the net at walking speed.
Hence, a good performance.

I think there are questions to be asked, but I also seriously think the bigger issue is the way this club is run and the lack of desire to really take us forward as a football team on the pitch.

Any manager is going to run into some sort of stumbling block with the way we operate.
Very true.

Doesn't disguise Ange's failings but ultimately we don't have an ownership who are prepared to invest to win.

1 win in 4. No signs of improvement since last season.

Not scoring at home in game against a depleted arsenal when we had all the possession.

Not good enough is it.

Really don’t get the negativity on here.

Issue is a serious lack of quality in the final third. Their defence was incredible today, but our wingers are so poor. Big question mark for me now is over Vicario and our wingers. Think this is Sonny’s last season.

Not good enough at all but we can’t be sacking managers and changing the players all the time so it’s time to do what Arsenal did and give Ange a couple of years to get the players that he needs and make them understand how to play his system. But today I feel like 🤮
I hear this all the time but you have to ensure you only give good managers time. You would never give someone like Sherwood or Nuno time would you?

That was ridiculous. We seem to only be prepared to shoot if we have a guaranteed goal. It's constant passing sideways in front of the box to find a good opening - which never comes!

How is Son staying on every game, he was the prime example of our performance today, no conviction, timid and slow.

Romero gets the ball on the half way line and just walks about it, really really poor.

The substitutions were terrible too, I like ange the person, but really starting to dislike the style of play.

Was at the game

The worst Ive ever seen Son....ever.

Brentford going to do the exact same next week.

10 players behind the ball looking to pounce with 2 players when we eventually lose posession, in addition to being strong from set pieces.

Both need to go. Ange is going to keep conceding from set pieces.

Levy gets a free ride. Ange will go & the new fall guy will face the same problems he has.
Sure we might defend better, but the lack of quality will let us down again.
It’s all just so predictable supporting this club.

Actually thought we played well and looked the better side for most the match. Arsenal are going to be challenging for 1st and will atleast get 2nd. We are getting so close.. There wasn't much in it at all but they get the job done ..we keep going

Lots of pretty passing, and lots of possession. But we never looked like scoring today.

Arsenal may be challenging for the league, but we looked the same against a shocking Leicester side.
