In the last 12 months we lost Kane, Dier, Lloris and Hjobjerg. Even with these senior players we still lacked leadership and so to lose them and then splurge on a bunch of teenagers (apart from Solanke) is something i struggled understand. There are no characters in there that are willing to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and even Romero who is usually dependable was off it today.
Richy has the character that we need in our team.

He doesn’t have much in way of ability or fitness, but give him his dues, he has character.

I am utterly disappointed in Postecoglou in not playing Bergvall today. Maddison wasnt doing shit.
Whats the point of all these forward players , if you have no body creative on ball.
Yep, said the same in an earlier post. Need people on the field who can dribble and beat their man. Never going to achieve shit passing around the arc back and forth all day. That's all we have done each game so far this season. Their is no movement, no cutting edge and more importantly, no quality.

No he’s not the guy sorry!

Arteta is flexible and his team can defend. Yes he’s been heavily backed but he’s earned it by extracting the maximum from average players.

Ange is stubborn and naive. I can’t think of one player who has improved under him. A mixed bag of signings.

Personally I find the football very dull to watch. Patient side to side stuff with no incisiveness or cutting edge. No risk.
Ffs it wasn’t that long ago scum fans were saying he was shit??????! And demanding he went! Lunacy and a rewrite of history.

What winds me up the most is that no matter how good or how bad they are over the years, we would next beat arsenal or Chelsea away two seasons in a row.

Pretty demoralising, not that we've lost to them, but that we never looked like scoring. Some terrible performances today, not necessarily in effort, just quality. Johnson pretty awful, Solanke isn't really like to be a premium striker quality-wise., Madders busy but ineffective, Son trying but looking old and short of that edge he had. Then Ange, made an error starting BJ and then left Maddes on a bit too long o only to replace him with Werner as he didn't have the courage or balls to risk Bergvall. Let's not get into a defensive set-piece coach discussion again as he has dug himself so deep in that one that he'll never be able to pivot away from his stance. What's really annoying is I can't see where the attacking rotation upfront is coming from in mid-week, so we're gonna just keep seeing the same. We're already looking like we need January to come as fast as possible. Europa campaign now critical for trying to sort out some sort of momentum.

Tactically pragmatic from Howe and Arteta in last 2 games. Both proven to take the right approach and clear blueprint to beat us.

Let us control the game between the 2 boxes. Counter and set pieces and you’ll have a high chance of coming away with something

What a terrible result, being put to the sword on your own patch by your hated rivals and just being pathetically weak with it. They didn't even have their first choice midfield - dreadful!

Romero the world cup winner whose performances lately don't mirror that one bit, seemingly undropable and it's looking like mid table mediocrity is on.

Had to be a set piece and at this rate Ange being completely blind to it will cost him sure this club is cursed. Only hope is our crap start to the season means a strong end whether that's with Ange time will tell.

Least he tried. Maddison next to him with his slowing game down and sideways passing was worse than that

Yes, I thought Kulu played pretty well.
Only Bentancur out there that played the clever balls inside and round the corners.
Everything else about us is totally predictable.
I bet that game followed Arteta’s first page of notes he jotted down before he left the Brighton game.

My choice at the time was Nagelsmann.

Thought that was the one to really go all in on and do a project with

So when I defend Ange it's not because I am an Ange apologist etc.

But once again a transfer window that needed something to really push us on and we did diddly squat

All so fucking predictable yet people here have the blinders on and blame Ange for it

Do you think we are struggling to create chances with players who are great at 1v1s and have genuine quality delivery/decision making?

We have a really high number of penalty area entries which shows we can break down the screen of the opposition but once we do, players stumble, choose the wrong pass, direction etc.

There was one situation where Deki had the ball in a great position and had sucked 2 Arsenal players onto him yet the other players were just stood watching letting Deki do it alone.

How are we such shit at set pieces still?

I am only 1/2 joking when i say we should consider hiring Pulis to come in once or twice a week to sort out the set pieces defending and attacking.

But whatever, it's a stupid game anyways....can't even use your hands....

We haven’t got enough of the right characters or leaders as someone said earlier.

Id keep only Van De Ven and maybe Porro and Udogie too and sell the rest of the first team if I took over.

No balls. Predictable. Toothless. Weak.

Struggling to see where we’re going here. We create nothing and still can’t defend a set piece. Every one of their players is better than their counterpart in our team, even with Rice and Odegaard not playing. Deserved loos, unfortunately.

PS The ref was fucking useless

I never said I wanted him back, I just said he would jump at the chance to come back to us if offered the job- but that Levy will never do that as he has too much pride.

Taking out all of the emotion he proved last year that he's still a very good manager.

Chelsea were starting to look like a well oiled machine at the end of last season.
A well oiled machine? They sacked him……

It's so flat that the number of extra time minutes doesn't even get much attention. Whether we get 5 minutes or another 20 minutes, you just know it won't matter either way.

Ange is supposed to be a swashbuckling, attack-minded manager, “if they score 2, we just go and score 3.”

More like “we never score and rarely win”

Our forward players simply aren't very good. We had the opportunity to improve that in the summer and we signed Werner who's a bit of a laughing stock and Odobert, who looks like he needs a couple of years on loan. We have a mid table forward line and we're getting midtable results. The club isn't has zero ambition to win anything.

We all know how this season goes already and it’s not even October. No ambition.
Hope I'm wrong but yeah it does seem a bit inevitable. We all know deep down we will get trashed at the likes of Anfield and Stamford Bridge as per.

Still backing Ange but yeah it's going to be a painful season at times.
