Yeah I’m not convinced people get what he is saying but there you go.

This isn’t about respecting Mourinho, this is about Mourinho fighting our corner in terms of big decisions and essentially how they benefit certain teams vs others.
Exactly how I read it, he’s saying we’re a big team and that if that’s Man U, Liverpool etc then that doesn’t get given.
Keep it up Jose!

I think people have got the wrong end of the stick here, which they've promptly used to beat Jose with

He's just saying that he gets it now. That he was actually spoiled at the big clubs. He's now at a proper club, one of the rest so to speak. And he see's that there's no respect for any football club that isn't a big money spinner for the FA or PL.

That and of course he's creating his siege mentality now. If there's one thing you cannot fault him for, it's that he'll fight for his club.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I agree but the club hasn't helped itself with the non-stop media coverage they encourage. That Amazon doc was a terrible idea and the constant social media posts!!!! They treat the team like a reality TV show. If they shut up for a bit and concentrated on the football, maybe we would get a bit more respect, just saying.
I enjoined the series personally.

Exactly this. He did similar at Chelsea, who were pretty much where we are now when he took over.

I want to agree, but Chelsea had already made themselves a successful cup side before Abramovich rocked up.

I think their standing was pretty similar, at least in how they were judged in comparison to the clubs they wanted to compete with.

They were massive underdogs in relation to their main objective, which was to win the league ahead of dominant Man Utd and Arsenal sides.

Hit the nail on the head. He's always been at clubs who have always had things their way. But he was so used to it that he never considered it as anything other than normal. Now he's with us he sees that his previous clubs were being treated with an unfair advantage. Not just with on field decisions like yesterday, but with the fixture pile up, the tv scheduling making the fixture pile up even worse, the Dele ban for his 'inappropriate' tweet and even more so, the 4 match ban Dier got. And that's just a few months worth. God knows what he'd have made of the Pedro Mendes 'goal' ,lasagnegate and the umpteen tons of other shit we've had to endure.

I loved Poch but it always angered me that he never really spoke out about these sort of things, so i'm really pleased Jose has - and even more pleased that he did it in a non ranting 'i've lost the plot' way !

Well, he did. He frequently bemoaned fixture schedules and lost it at Mike Dean. But with Jose we have arguably the most respected manager in the game, and so now we're not being ignored as much.

Ah yeah, i'd forgotten the Mike Dean incident - but probably because, as you say, coming from Mourinho it gets more coverage and has more weight to it.

He's absolutely right, and TBF it's what a lot of us has been saying throughout the years.

I still believe one of the cardinal points of bringing him in, was changing the whole mentality both inside the club, as well as the perception of the club from the outside.

In my book he's well on his way to doing that, even if the football has been less than inspiring at times.

So we, as a club, deserve more respect? How about you start showing us some. In the Amazon programme you said that you wouldn't have taken the job here if we hadn't had such good players. Translation: this club isn't at my level but I'll take the job anyway. What you mean is that the club should be shown more respect because you're the manager here now. I don't recall you showing us any respect when you were at Chelsea or Man. United.

Cock.
You haven’t shined with that post.

Some very weird posts in here
I think most of it is a reaction to the ‘banter’ from rival fans...

I had a barrage of messages from goon mates saying “even your manager says you’re a small time club” :bag:

I'm pretty sure what Mourinho was saying was this:

" I know the officiating is a joke and corrupt as fuck. I've had loads of ridiculous decisions in my favour and very few against me when at Chelsea and Man U. It gave me loads of extra points and, personally, I profited massively. Of course I never pointed out the injustice back then because I'm not stupid... I thought this preferential treatment was all because of me and therefore totally deserved, because I am the most marvellously charismatic person that has ever lived. However I'm not getting any free points anymore, it's even gone the other way! So now I'm going to point out what everyone knows anyway.

Remember him saying it plenty in pressers.

Well no - he complained about the ban, but all he said was:

"What happened there happened there. You know it's something where the feelings and emotions are there. Something stupid happens and you react.

"I want to tell you that I was always under control. Never out of control, but you know what happened there happened there on the pitch.

"Now I need to find the reason that we lost the game because of us, not to justify or find an excuse because of an action or different action.

"I think we didn't deserve to win, maybe we had the control with the possession but it's not enough. It should be easy for me to justify the defeat and blame someone but I think we need to blame ourselves."

He never criticised the referee or reveal what was said, just defended himself and complained about the ban - that is a different thing to me. That isn't 'speaking out'.
