When it comes to Barcelona’s finances I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m sure they can afford to sign him but can they afford to register him to play?
They always do though. They may start the season without registering but they always get everyone registered by deadline day.

Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with his brother, particularly if Nico came to the UK

I understand it's not happing and am living in la la land. However if we ever wanted to make s statement it would be signing Williams. Would be one of those watershed moments when a team lays down a marker for all to see and could transform the image of the club when it comes transfers and our perceived lack of being serious.

If Williams is happy to go then it seems like such an obvious mov for PSG. Not sure whether he is only focused on Barcelona though.
I said a month or so back that I thought they would go for Williams. After Kvara it was by far the most obvious move. Reality is I think he really wants to go Barca BUT I do think PSG would have no issue paying the RC and no issue offering him mega wages. I know Barca have a habit of finding the required money down the back of the sofa but the RC having to be paid upfront and his huge wages makes me wonder if it might be too much of a financial stretch for them. Be interesting to see how this plays out. If I was him I would wait for Barca but he may need to take a pay cut which he might not be willing to do.

Nico williams was the next big thing last summer and that is when we should have made our move. He is now in the top 5 most coveted wingers in the world, is on wages of £300k and is wanted by teams like psg, barca who will pay even crazier wages. In this world there is always a chance, but i would put ours at 0.01%. i am feeling lucky today otherwise i would have put us at 0.000000000001%.

At this point, it feels like the most passive pursuit of all time.
I just don't think he is particularly convinced its the right move but it seems like they are the only ones prepared to pay a larger fee for him. That said they still haven't matched Rennes valuation and if I was them I would stick to that valuation if the buying club is PSG.

La Liga bizarrely commented on this a couple of weeks ago:
