A commentator on our Everton match mentioned that the Prem are using a new match ball this season, and that it "flies truer" than recent balls.

I've tried to keep an eye on this in all the televised games, and it seems to be true. It'll probably mean fewer long range goals than recent seasons, but a better reward for the real technicians.

I think it's a good thing, and I'd like to see FIFA/UEFA/ FA kee the same ball for a few seasons at least.

I have a good overall feel for balls...

On closer examination the new balls don't appear an awful lot different to balls used last season...just a different colour(s). I can't wait to see the colour balls used for the winter and the FA cup...

Oh for the days of a plain white football with a manufacturer's name on it.

These days all we get is footballs made to look like some form of modern art with every conceivable colour (and some others) plastered all over them.
