This thread is embarrassing....

We have a manager the last time i looked.A manager that is i acknowledge going through a sticky period, but a manager that has done a top job since hes been here and deserves abit more respect.

Have some fucking decency and wait until when and if he's gone ffs.

You lot were are calling for Poch to show some loyalty when he was being touted for bigger jobs not long ago....

Practice what you preach and show some loyalty , we aren't AFTV.

He's openly discussed his post-Spurs future, I don't see it as being disrespectful to discuss our future post-Poch. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't ask for loyalty from our players or our manager. I just ask for them to handle things in a decentmanner if they do decide to leave (e.g. Kyle Walker).

Some perspective may be required here. He's at the very top of a profession where sackings happen frequently, and brutally. Ranieri went within a year of winning Leicester the league (and it was the right decision to sack him, too). He's paid a hell of lot of money, and there are question marks over whether his heart is even in it anymore. To say this topic should be off-limits because it's disrespectful to the guy is borderline absurd.

All this banging on about loyalty.

There is no loyalty in football.

All involved in it, know it.

For the record.

If Pochettino does leave, for whatever reason, I am onboard the Jose train. He's wanted us bad for a long time.

IIRC, he was Levy's first target for the big rebuild back in 2004. If it hadn't been for Chelsea's lottery win, there's a good chance he would have come to us back then. Santini was the backup option.

There's an unfinished business, "fated by the gods" kind of vibe there.

You make some good points, and emotions run high ofc

But my point is I find it distasteful to be choosing a new manager when Poch is still in the job and FYI has constantly repeated his desire to stay and sort things out, so please let's drop the bit where you question his desire to stay, the lack of desire is with some of the players who are well known, for whatever reason, and Poch also wanted them out too and for whatever reasons they are still here seemingly causing alot of our problems.
I wish we could show Poch some support, some respect seeing as he HAS. said he is fully committed here, and stop these threads choosing his predasessor.
That to me is not too absurd.... I truly believe we will be guilty of throwing away one of the best managers of our recent history far too quickly, especially as he warned us of a painful rebuild

I was looking at Mourinho's Inter side that he was so successful with. I tried to match up 'like for like' in our team. The main differences I saw were the fact that Inter had some serious warriors in their spine (Lucio,Zanetti, Motta, Stankovic, Milito).

Caesar (Lloris)
Maicon (-)
Zanetti (-)
Lucio (Toby)
Samuel (Jan)
Motta (Dier - could be like Motta)
Stankovic (-)
Pandev (Lamela)
Sneijder (GLC)
Etoo (Son/Moura)
Milito (Kane)

You’ve er, certainly used your imagination there mate!

What we comparing next? The acting range of Dean Gaffney compared to Tom Hanks?

We didn’t get him in 2004 because Porto knocked Man Utd out of the champions league. He was all set to join had they gone out in that round. I think it was the quarter finals.

As has been said, Levy won’t pay Poch off, but I bet he’d consider an approach for him now.
This... all day. There is no other way Poch will leave. Levy won't pay him off and he won't quit and miss out on payment.

FWIW - I would like Poch to stay and be given the chance to ship out some of the non-performers/whingers/call them what you will and get some fresh blood in. Yes, it is a 'romantic' view in the fashion of Bill Nic, but Poch is the best manager we have had in my lifetime.

Agreed. He'll wait for United to sack OGS and then wait on an approach from them.

The players really loved playing for him at Utd didn't they, so much so they got him fired. I don't want to see him at Spurs. Why is it everybody thinks if there foreign they must be good. Personally if Poch goes I would be quite happy to see Eddie Howe or even Dyche given a chance. Nobody knows how good they could be as they have always been with smaller clubs with no real budget but have always managed to keep them in the PL. Mourinho always blames everybody but himself when the going gets tough it wouldn't take long to have a really disgruntled squad even worse than it is now.
.
There is a reason why they are at small clubs. It really would be a retrograde step to employ either of these two at Spurs. We find it difficult enough to attract top quality players at the moment, so just think how much worse it would be with Dyche or Howe.

Someone on the UAE Spurs supporters club on FB mentioned that Levy and Mourinho has a 2 hour meeting yesterday in the Burj Al Arab.

Don't often post on here but I'm astonished that we are even having this conversation. Poch is the manager and he should stay. We need to offload in Jan any player that is no longer buying into how he wants them to play same as he did when he first joined.
Also the thought of Mourinho and his brand of non football being our manager is frankly horrific.

The apparently specific mated with the context-free, vague and ill-defined. Social media, oy, oy,oy...

Likely unrelated to us but:

Mohamed Bouhafsi: In a press conference, President Aulas confirms the news #RMCsport yesterday. He tried to convince José #Mourinho but the Portuguese coach declined, because he's about to take a new job elsewhere.
