This thread seems extremely premature to me, but I'm one of the few that would like Howe should Poch be given the heave-ho. For the naysayers, look back 5 years on this forum and see how many people said the same things about Poch that some are now saying about Howe. "unproven at top level", "never had a big job", "iffy transfers" and so on.

I get what you're saying, but I think the point is people want someone to take us to the next level rather than someone to come in and be Poch 2.0

I'm not saying that's the right way to approach it but that's why people are reluctant to go with another "unproven" guy like Howe and are instead calling for these big names like Mourinho or Allegri. For what it's worth, I don't think Mourinho or Allegri would be good choices but for some reason they both seem to keep getting mentioned on here.

I have never been a fan of Mourinho's antics, the way he has come across in the media, his demeanor and theatrics. That being said, IF and when Poch goes, we should be striving for a manager of his level. If it were him, I wouldn't necessarily welcome him with open arms, but I would give him the chance to win me over. I believe our players would respect him and with the current group, that will be the most important thing for any manager who walks through the door, having the respect of our players immediately.

When considering who could hypothetically be a next Spurs manager, one needs to get inside the head of DL - what is DL's thought process? Has his philosophy changed? He has shown himself willing to be flexible with having tried the Director of Football route on several occasions. Would he go with an instant fix or would he prefer a multi year project type manager?

I would expect Levy to try DOF/Head Coach again when Poch leaves, as it appeared as if Poch forced through the change that made him manager instead of head coach back when his stock was at it's highest. At least I expect that to be the long term plan, we might need a short term plan as well in case something happens mid-season.

Yes, I think that DL did that out of respect but obviously it hasn't worked out quite how Poch expected. I guess that it is possible that Poch might even agree that a DoF might even go some way to addressing issues that are currently contributing to the on-the-field problems.

This thread is embarrassing....

We have a manager the last time i looked.A manager that is i acknowledge going through a sticky period, but a manager that has done a top job since hes been here and deserves abit more respect.

Have some fucking decency and wait until when and if he's gone ffs.

You lot were are calling for Poch to show some loyalty when he was being touted for bigger jobs not long ago....

Practice what you preach and show some loyalty , we aren't AFTV.

I don’t expect loyalty from Poch. He should do what’s right for him and we should do what’s right for us.

Of course. The club's job is to get the team performing at the highest possible level and creating a place where the players want to be.

Asking for blind loyalty will only get you so far.

Serious question....

Do you think not sacking Poch now is showing blind loyalty?

I do understand that all managers eventually go, i do get Poch is struggling atm, i just think he deserves a chance to sort it out,

He has earnt that right IMO, surely?

We beat Watford and Red Star in our next 2 games and suddenly we could be top 4 and 2nd in our CL group and it doesn't feel so bad.

The new players Poch bought in haven't even played yet, ffs lets give the man a chance......is that blind loyalty??

I haven't said keeping Poch is blind loyalty.

Poch has been an excellent manager for us. This does not mean he should keep his job.

As fans we only hear little bits from the outside so determining if Poch is still determined and dedicated to the job is hard to know. I personally don't focus too much on press conferences and media quotes to determine this.

Poch is right that a rebuild is needed. Whether he stays or not is based on whether he is the right man for a rebuild and whether the board are willing to get behind Poch.

I am happy to give him a chance and none of my posts have suggested otherwise.
