You should all read that Balague thread, He's taken a giant shit on most of the talk here, obviously it depends whether you believe he has any validity or not.

I'd take this with a large bucket of salt. Of course we can afford compensation to get a new manager. It's ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Whether that stretches to Mourinho is another matter.

People will bash him when its not something they want to hear, completely ignoring what he's said there makes a lot of sense and is very likely to be the case.

Would you trust a man that looks like this?

I'm only taking his Poch stuff as gospel as they are close, all the rest of it he's guessing.
Exactly...no way he’d know who we were after, if those managers were interested or not, how much compensation would be required to pay Poch (and his team) off and how much to get the new bloke in!

Also Balague mouthing off to the press doesn’t look good on Poch either! If they were mates then Balague wouldn’t say anything without Poch’s approval...evidently (it would seem) he doesnt mind his pal reporting negatively on his employers!

Why not?

Well maybe I should rephrase that as highly unlikely he would know...I’m just don’t believe he claims that he doesn’t know what’s happening with Poch however he knows all of our targets and what intentions those managers have.

Glen Johnson played with him at Stoke, sharing a dressing room and like all such players they were involved in regular training with each other. Johnson was very specific in his criticisms, measured in his assessment and gave several examples of why Berahino so antagonised other players in the squad. It was no rant either, but merely something that arose in discussion about something else entirely (which I was listening 'live' to) and which had to be probed and prompted about rather than something he was bursting to say. It was a fascinating assessment from within a dressing room of full-time professional footballers. Contrast that with the flimsy rumour on this board about Spurs dressing room. The more the interviewer probed and pushed him in order to be able to say he'd tried to put some notional case for Berahino, the more Johnson elaborated on what he meant and gave more examples of why he and others had arrived at their conclusions about him. If only all football radio coverage was of this kind of analytical and considered quality.

It was Talksport right? "Analytical" and "considered" are not terms usually associated, but ok. It's all good.

IMO Poch does deserve the January window.

However its a moot point is it not. For starters and to Pochs own admission, January is so difficult to bring in the required quality of players in. Then you're expecting old baldy locks to mastermind a huge amount of deals. Ins and outs.

THEN you're hoping old baldy locks can do these deals before the last few days of the window. Which rarely happens.

THEN you're hoping Poch is going to set these new players free to impact game. Which NEVER happens. They will be integrated slowly as per.

History tells us this kinda shit won't happen.

If we don’t get top 4 the summer could be very ugly. I think we’d be better off getting a manager now as it’s going to be hard to attract big names without any European football let alone no champions league.

If Poch will get the January window, we have to start winning games and we have to start now.

If he gets the January window we need to be thinking long term in keeping him. What’s the point of him spending the next managers transfer kitty if it’s likely he is going.

FWIW I've always found Balague to be somebody who guesses and don't take him at his word despite him having incredible contacts within the game but I posted these because fact of the matter is, he has or at least has had extremely close contact with Poch.

I remember when he proclaimed to be close to Benitez and said he’d never take the Chelsea job. Then about 4/5 hours later Chelsea appointed him!

He’s a bit of a charlatan if you ask me.

I have already nailed my colours to the mask, which is i want Poch to turn it around starting Saturday. But I really cannot believe overall that Daniel Levy is getting such an easy ride. Poch obviously has his flaws, and majority have aired them on here. But Daniel Levy and Joe Lewis are the main culprits behind what you are seeing now.

getting another manager will not change anything imho. They would simply go for a glove-puppet.

Yeah, but the bit in bold is the bit everyone has known for how many years? This is just a 'thank me statement' because this has nearly always been the case with the last 'X' amount of managers.

The people above aren't changing anytime soon and the only way to effect/affect that is by doing something people/fans just won't do.
