Maybe not, but if a player with that skillset is so important to the whole thing working or not, and adequate back up needed to be a priority. I'd also say that if him being missing means you can't play this way, then it needs to adjust when he's out.
Exactly this. If the system falls apart when VDV is out, you either have a proper replacement or change the system.

That goal was utter schoolboy levels of defending,

Im not overreacting to this.

We are the finer details away from being a superb team.

we've absolutely smothered them this half and a bit more conviction we'd be out of sight.
Scoring goals isn't a fine detail, though I'm inclined to agree overall.

Our 2 9s are both out or we would probably be out of sight already. We’re missing our best defender, and we’ve totally outplayed a rival for top 4 away from home. And some people just want to revel in us losing and moan about the transfer window

Mentally weak. Lacking in concentration. I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve conceded when we’ve been well on top. Not good enough.

What's the last time opposing team had loss of confidence having to play us, League 2 teams will expect this score 1 or 2 against us. Hopefully this style will good enough for Europa League.

We still look bang average defensively and going forward. Most of our shots and attacks are easily cleared, blocked or saved and teams know they can find gaps in our defence if they stay in the game.

Nothing’s really changed since last season - which is to be expected after our window was focussed predominantly on the future rather than now.

Expect a lot of games to go the same way as this has so far.

Ange’s hands are tied.

We create so many chances to win games 4/5-0 but we don’t have enough quality in attack to score against good teams so then we concede the other end.

exactly same as Leicester game

He sanctioned the Werner loan, he can blame himself. Should have demanded quality wingers.

Fucking hell, the negativity pipes down when we’re playing well and then it’s all crowing. If you don’t think we’ve shown good signs today, particularly in comparison to our last few visits here, then I don’t really know what to say.
Sort of agree - but results matter.

Looking "good" is not enough.

I dunno. Isn’t this the blueprint to beat us? Let us have it and catch us on the break. Until we can successfully defend counter attacks and take our chances then we’ll never be superb.
