We're too slow in thought and predictable in terms of playing it to a winger and overloading the back post. Not enough craft or danger in the middle of the pitch and we're losing the battle of the half-spaces.
When we play it in behind the person receiving gets it at an awkward angle and we lose the advantage.

Hoping for improvements in the 2nd half.
Our consistent over reliance on recycling the ball out to the wings really concerns me and was one of the few questions I had about Ange when we first hired him. There is no doubt it can work but it would really help if we weren’t quite so over reliant on it.

A frustrating half. We had most of the ball, but didn't create anything of note. Defensively we look vulnerable and switched off for their goal. Usually we struggle to play well for both halves so I hope that wasn't our good one. It's the same old story of having to work really hard to create chances and score goals, but making it easy for the opposition to do the same.

COYS!!

Johnson got Sarr feels a little odd. Son striker with Kulu back into midfield?

Once again I watch Newcastle and wish we’d got Barnes years ago when he first came onto the scene. Better than Werner, Solomon and probably Kulu too.

Aggressive then which i'm assuming Deki drops back, Johnson right, Odobert left and Son in the middle.

Tbf to Romero. There's 4 against 2 in that picture. They should have been able to cover him
They're all running back towards our goal though. Romero can see Barnes running in front of him but he's barely jogging

I think we’re gonna try too hard to create chances that they will hit us on the counter and go 2-0 up, just can’t see us breaking them down but hope I’m wrong.

I know it's over simplistic and I hated when people said without Kane spurs are nothing but we'd be comfortably winning this with a player like Isak.

Newcastle haven't caused us too much issue with him and we have struggled inside the penalty area

Not sure whether Deki is a good option deep. Fear that Sarr is beginning to fizzle. Shouldn't be going backwards at this stage of his career.

Surprised Sarr is off. Thought he was ok. Feels like that midfield is going to be easier to get though now.
