He stands on his foot?
Yes but people don’t care about that. Any opportunity to throw a FFS at someone they are just gagging to have a pop at.

He hasn’t been great but he hasn’t been as bad as some people like to make out and certainly no worse than at least a couple of others. I’m convinced there’s some sort of scapegoat muscle memory at play here 😜

Honestly? I think we're wank. There's some very good footballers out there, we get into some good positions. But without the ball the shape looks wrong and it's all just a bit half hearted.

Meh.

Think we’ve been quite good without looking a threat. The lack of strikers is the big issue here today, just our luck for them both to be out, but thems the breaks.

Hope we can somehow get back into this, but I’m expecting a 2-0 loss at this point.

Maddison is really not the player I thought we were getting.

The only thing I ever see him do well is a sprayed ball out to the wing, or the odd set piece.

Doesn't dictate the game at all. Thought we were getting Eriksen mk2. He's nowhere near that.

Don't think it was the worst half at all to be fair, but we lack a cutting edge. One of those games where we could play until tomorrow and still not greatly look like scoring.

I just don't see that hunger for goal and quality to match in our attack, something that I was really hopeful we'd address in the summer.

Exactly this, very concerning

Honestly, as it stands, the sooner Bergvall and Gray cement themselves into this team the better. Bissouma and Maddison need to step it up this season.

I hate to say it, but Vic reminds me too much of Lloris. Doesn't command his box and is a fancy shot stopper. We need a keeper who is more commanding overall. Shouting alot doesn't make you commanding. The presence you possess does.

We generally don't concede goals from excellent opposition moves, it's mostly us making fuck ups, poor decisions.
Long term that can be reduced.
Short term it's bloody annoying.

We just play so slowly in possession that the opposition don't need to put much effort to defend against us.

I assume you mean udogie doing a udogie and giving away a pointless free kick. The amount of times he bundles a player over when they are going nowhere fhcks me right off.
That annoyed me but I was on about sleeping at a throw in.

Kick off time caught me out so switched on when Newcastle scored. From then on it looks like any other game from last season whereby the opposition let us fanny about through the pitch until we get to the penalty area and have no clue what to do with it. How we could have gone a whole summer transfer window without seriously strengthening our starting attack I don’t know.

Predictable in attack and defence.
I can't see what we do in training that works. Hate to say it but i think Ange tactics have been found out.

Look, we are well in this game and played largely well that half so no need for histrionics.

Subs will be key here and how Ange wants to adapt - does he go for the safe option and bring on like for like (Johnson for Odobert) or does he trust the likes of Bergvall to turn this around?

Maddison for me continues to frustrate and I also think at times having both Porro and Udogie underlapping just stodges the play centrally so i'd like to see some variation in our play with our fulbacks.

Sorry but Son is no LW in this system, also Maddison can go to the bench for all i care. He is supposed to be the midfielder that controls the game and all i see is a weak/slow player that lost the ball a few times today. Same problems as last year, but its basically the same team, so i dont know why expected better. Lets hope there are some changes at HT.
Weird game to pick on Son. Been decent
