Deki as a false 9. Son on the left with Odobert on the right, sounds good.

Biss, Bents and Madders. Usual back four. Our bench has pace and depth for the last 30mins too, Bergval, Johnson, Sarr, Werner.

Barcodes have been gash so far, plus injuries at the back for them too. It’s a chance to show we’ve improved.

Although we miss JimmyG2, I know what he’d be saying.
I'm hoping bentacur and sarr start. We need energy and strength. Have a concern that Joelinton will boss Maddison and Bissouma with his stremgth and running.

I’m quite surprised how defeatist so many people seem. I know we’ve been poor up there the last couple of seasons but prior to that our record there was excellent.

I'm still a bit apprehensive with how open we may be. I think sometimes we can compensate for that in playing really well, but having no striker and as a result having to play players out of position or players out of form doesn't really help our cause in that respect.

I've said before but I think tomorrow will be a great test of that. I am behind the way that we play, but to really maximise it (especially in away games) I think we need a clinical side, and at least a strong one with minimal injuries. It's very weird as if we approached the game in a more cautious and rigid manner, I'd actually feel fairly confident of getting something, but it's the bombing forward of most of our team and leaving spaces, all whilst not having the players there or in their best positions to really gain the benefit of that, that leaves me slightly worried. And especially when you consider the players Newcastle have to exploit spaces left behind the full backs.

I'm very intrigued to see how we defend tomorrow.

So today Oasis fans burnt up their Saturday in a (largely) futile attempt to buy reunion gig tickets and today is gonna be the day that I post my Newcastle prediction, D’You Know What I Mean? Some Might Say the game v Everton was no test for us but Hey Now, let’s have it right, Leicester should have been battered similarly. It proves that despite The Masterplan wins don’t get handed to you just because you are the better team. Impressively, Spurs let the Leicester disappointment Cast No Shadow on the next game and with Wilson on debut doing Whatever he wanted on the left flank we were impressive. However, all that goodwill could Slide Away if we do what we have done in Newcastle for the last two seasons. That 6-1 loss will unfortunately Live Forever in the memory and last season’s 0-4 reverse wasn’t a whole lot better. Hopefully we can be strong early doors and Little By Little work our way into the match and make it a contest this time. I can’t say I’m massively confident, those two games have scarred me but I say to myself Don’t Look Back In Anger and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. Be Here Now and look at how the teams are performing at the present time. Newcastle come into it, like us, with a win and a draw, and the draw was a lucky one as Bournemouth were robbed of a late winner by a (IMO) non-existent handball. They are not fully firing yet but they have a narrative-rich returning “hero” in Sandro Tonali for this match and I can just imagine him firing a goal in from Half The World Away. Isak seems to love playing us and Callum Wilson too. We would have to catch them on an off-day to win I feel, so I will Bring It On Down to this…Newcastle United 2 Tottenham Hotspur 3. COYS!

I have a feeling that Solanke will be fit tomorrow.
He could probably play but Ange has said he won't risk him with the international break affording Dom extra recovery time. When he is fit and firing to play the gooners we will be grateful for this decision making.

I do hope so. A bona fide striker in these sorts of games would help massively. You can get away with against Everton et al.

Speaking to my Newkie Brown drinking mate earlier and he’s expecting us to give them a tonking which is really funny as I’ve got them down on my super six to win 2-1.
I just want a result of some sort!

I don’t want to see us fold pathetically like we’ve done up there twice in a row in consecutive seasons. Make a game of it at the very least.

If you offered me a draw right now I’d take it with both hands.

If the manager continues with the iinverted ffullbacks and high line

Gordon and that ventriloquist dummy face Almiron is absolutely going to smash us on the flanks

And then Ange came in... decided he didn't need to watch the previous yrs humiliation and oh we got a 4-0 hiding by Eddie Howe who so many on here thought wasn't good enough for us.

Ange's 1 dimensional approach and not having a plan B doesn't fill me with confidence for this game.. I'd love a 2-0 win for us... but don't see how we stop leaking goals with Ange's approach.

As a manager I would be thinking the opposite, with the International break between the 2 games it allows him time to recover from any soreness he may feel after the Newcastle game.

(Of course it depends on what type of injury it is)

You can't predict this match result. It's just that type of game. Too many times out of nowhere Newcastle hammer in 4+ goals, and the problem is Isak needs goals, and we like to help there too.

Should be entertaining for the neutral.

I’ve been getting irrationally wound up by all the coverage and build up saying how this is a bogey ground for us and how we never do well here. Two dodgy results in a row doesn’t make it a bogey ground.

Last 10 Lge games away to newcastle:
  • W - 6
  • D - 1
  • L - 3

Let’s get out there and have some revenge for last seasons car crash

The two teams we've faced so far have only managed 1 point between them in six matches.

This will be our first major test of the season, and I'm looking forward to it.

Big big test. When they get going at home they’re one of the best in the land.

No matter the team it’s up to the players to stand up to the intensity and not give them the opening to get the momentum.

I’m hopeful though, we’re the better team, just have to show it.

Really looking forward to this, I feel it will be a great litmus test to see where we are. I know we probably won’t click completely into gear for another few games especially that Solanke and Richy are both out but I still think these sort of harder tests give a much better representation of where we are as a team even if we aren’t in full flow yet.
