From the oficial site...can anyone please translate this into English? Cheers!

.
It's the equivalent of having a maxed-out credit card at a high interest rate that you can't repay, that you then use one of those balance transfer offers to move it to another at a fixed interest rate so you can repay it monthly over the long term.

I work that out as paying around £40m a year? Interest obviously falling after the first year.

I have it at closer to £25m a year.. Hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about can drop in soon

Edit. Scrap that. £40m if interest rate is typically like mortage interest rates. Which seems an incredible amount of interest. But then so does my mortgage :(

Interest is about £15m debt about £22m. Obviously interest will go down year on year. Much less than the £50m first touted. Basically a fantastic deal in terms of freeing up revenue.

@Lilbaz , agreed.

I can't find enough information to work out the exact annual repayments but the range seems to be between about £38m and £45m pa., largely depending on exactly how the repayments are scheduled, and also on how different interest rates attach to different tranches of debt.

Either way, it will probably average out at roughly the mid-point between these figures, so, say around £41.5m pa.

It sounds to me like a good and easily affordable arrangement, and I'm guessing there are some early redemption options in case an even better deal comes along at some time in the future, like via a takeover, for example...

Thanks guys, muchos appreciatos!

I mean, I'm not an idiot (although some might debate that...) and I reognise all the words individually, but when they're all put together in that order, I have a problem. I don't understand 'accountantspeak' :)

Let's hope with our new and enhanced spending power, we can bring in a few players such as Dybala in the next few windows. Players of the highest proven quality. That's a big step towards persuading our best players to stay with us.

Everyone is ignorant of something. Asking about something you don't understand improves you as a person and us as a species.

Not really with increased revenue. I’d say CL is bonus money.

Yes but every little helps and £60 mill or so from CL is a bit more than a bonus. Bayern almost sold out for a group stage game just wonder how many we would sell for a Europa League group stage game or would it look like this but with blue seats... https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8481826/arsenal-emirates-empty-seats-bate/, just imagine how the tabloids would go on about how the world's greatest football stadium that cost millions is half empty.

I mean it’s a bonus in terms of buying players. They don’t need CL money to keep the club financially stable.
