As I keep repeating in this thread, unless Brighton somehow get to the FA Cup semi final, the opener is nailed on to be the Brighton game on Sat 6th April.

I know this to be so because I CAN’T FUCKING GO :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Miss the wedding mate, plenty more fish in the sea etc.

The argument is that we're BETTER at Wembley, and moving to the new stadium may take some time to get used to. Warnock got us at Wembley and thinks his awful side will be at a disadvantage because their competition for relegation, Burnley and Palace, may get us at the new stadium.

We’ve played Burnley at Wembley, but you’re right about Warnock’s comments.

And he is the only person to moan; this article mentions ‘other clubs’ but is totally making that up.

The FA Cup is likely to have an impact on the exact date of the first game, simply due to possible involvement/replays etc.
I’m more interested in getting confirmed dates for the test events.

He’s a tosspot. Brighton not Burnley also. Huddersfield will also probably be down by the time we play them.

Ha. Not my wedding. Can’t really get out of it. If it is Brighton I will just keep up to date with the score and then pretend it didn’t happen.

as it's in April, small chance it might even get moved to the 7th if we are still there or there abouts when the next set get announced

Its not going to be ready this season is it? I hope im wrong. If they didnt mess up the wiring would we be there by now? Or is there more to it?
The fact that the stadium interior was visibly completed at least two months ago confirms to me that we would have been in there in September as planned, if not for the colossal mess with the integrated alarm system - which seems to have more to it than just wiring.

The whole stadium didn't need to be finished. It just needed to be signed off as safe. The only thing that has ever been put forward as a reason not to certify the stadium has been the alarm system. All the remaining stuff that people have kept pointing out as incomplete was cosmetic in nature. It would have had a hundred rough edges, but it would have been usable.

I could have learnt about fire systems and become an electrician in the time it has taken to resolve this.

I wonder if there'll be law-suits flying around once the stadium is completed?

I think it will depend on the relationships. All parties would be keen to avoid that and would want to do everything possible to finish the project. The sensible thing is to agree to get it sorted as soon as possible and a compromise arranged. Legal fights or even threats won’t do anyone any good at the moment.

*Edit - in addition I would consider it negligence of the highest order if Spurs had not somehow allowed for the possibility of this happening. It was a complex little project, especially given the timeframe. It could just as easily have been some other key component of the project. Insurance against these possibilities perhaps?

It's objectively false that we are better at Wembley. Final season at Old WHL we were unbeaten in all comps if I remember correctly. We lost a couple last season and have lost 3 (?) this season.

So the moaning teams can properly objectively and subjectively go do one.

I think the argument some are trying to make is that we are likely to perform better at a stadium we are acclimatised to.A new ground is an unknown variable.

However, it’s impossible to know whether it would be a detriment to our performances/results or not.

I think Warnock just enjoys moaning!

Exactly right. Let’s say we get really close to challenging for the league (ok I’m a dreamer right) and we move into the stadium and we do go on to win the league. Our rivals and media will say we had an unfair advantage (of course missing out the handicap we have had of playing at Wembley all year).

If in that scenario we went on to lose games at the new stadium the media would point the finger at us and say we blew our chances moving into the stadium this season.

If we have the option to move in say March or April, Liverpool and City will suddenly have a problem with it.

On the Palace and Brighton games, that report (and people) make out as if the games will never happen. Couldn't Palace's game just be moved back 3 days to midweek? Same for Brighton

You're not the only one, I'm in New York on the 6th. I'll have to try and find somewhere to watch the game on tv instead.
