That is really nothing, I have done 12 hour shifts for 5 days in a row before, as I am sure many other people have as well.
I did 14 hr shifts 7 days a week for 3 straight months on a lane rental once, with 48 hrs straight in one stint so we could get a lane switch done on time.

Good money, but it fucks you up for a while.

A lot of workers have been doing 12hrs Monday to Friday and 10 hours Saturday and Sunday for months now.
It’s like a scene from walking dead on site now there are so many zombies walking around

I'm pretty sure the £390m figure for the Emirates is analogous to the £850m figure for the whole NDP.

As I posted about a year ago (and someone quoted yesterday), journalists writing articles about development always compare the initial build cost with the final overall development cost. It's a way to make up stories about uncontrolled cost overruns.

So I think the figure for the Emirates includes all the housing, the public realm improvements and perhaps the residential development on the Highbury site.

Build costs in London have not increased vastly in the past 12 years. They've risen, but nothing like land values or sale prices of flats and houses. The financial crash put a major brake on the building industry, because buyers fled the market, and it took a few years to get back to where it was.
That is plausible. Emirates was down as £200m to start with, then recorded as £390m in the end.
Just like our stadium was £350m - £400m, but the final figure it will be stamped with will be £850m.
Seems like the North London stadium build rule-of-thumb is the total development cost will be about double the build cost.

So back of the envelope, comparing the emirates build cost of £200m with ours of £400m -
inflation of 50% maybe adds £100m.
retractable pitch: £50m
Um, short time scale, shared site for one year of the build: £25m
Brexit and cheesery: £25m

conclusion: the figures are now in the same ballpark to my mind.

There are so many unknowns, but I think your post DM, makes sense of the seemingly random figures we get quoted and I'm sorry I missed your explanation the first time round.

@dondo was it you 'the experienced electrician'?

by the way today I received my membership pack, no fixture list included, so they are playing it safe

Power to the people.
Like the bit about the welfare facilities. There are roughly 35 toilet cubicles on site. Is that enough legally for 38000 workers ?
I seriously doubt it

This is probably a silly question, but one I have been wondering (and feel free to ignore, because it’s so boring) but... When the pitch, with the grass and soil, splits into three parts, how do they prevent the edges of these parts from dipping, or losing soil, and creating uneven levels at the seams when they are joined back together?

I'm not a technical expert but i believe it has something to do with witchcraft and sacrificing your first born, although i'm sure @davidmatzdorf will correct me.

Aren't the 3 panels joined together (and can be split again if need be) and all move as one?

I'm sure the human sacrificies will help, but putting my horticultural hat on for a moment, once the turf has formed a proper mat of roots, I think it will hold the underlying soil together effectively. Also, I think modern football pitches are reinforced with flexible plastic mesh just below the level of the grass. Not letting anyone tread on the joins when they're moving would also help...

I think there was something on SSC regarding cameras being down due to power being removed because of crane movement. Or something like that.
Maybe that's the problem with them all as there's no power to them.
I'll see if I can find it.
Sorry can't find it atm.
Found this from CC though.

I know we have seen many post about this, but will the pitch actually be moved back under the stadium that much. the NFL is only twice a year at the moment, and other events will be held mainly during the close season due to weather
